So does this motherboard actually support usage of 4 GPUs? Could you use, for example, 4 Radeon GPUs in a 8/4/4/4 mode?

I'm going to say no, as I couldn't even get 2 to properly work in this board. I wound up sending it back. Customer support was also not helpful when it came to getting more than one card working on this board.

Question 2

Is the Samsung Samsung 256GB SM951 Single Sided 80mm (2280/2280SS) M.2 PCI Express 3.0 x4 (PCIe Gen3 x4) SSD - AHCI Version - Model # MZHPV256HDGL compatible with the M.2 Slots on the Asus P10S-WS motherboard?

Although the SM951 will most likely work (I had a pair of 950 Pros installed), it is important to note that the two M.2 slots on the P10S motherboard are only X1, not X4.  As a result, speed will be limited.

Question 3

Can you use 2400 ddr4 memory in this board ? After putting all components together, the system would not boot with error code 55 on the new  motherboard, which is 'memory not installed'.  It is in proper dimm slots.  This is not my first build either, so I am hoping I just had the wrong memory type in it. I'm have ordered 2133 ddr4 to see if this fixes it.  If not, I do hope I do not have a bad motherboard.

The 2133 should fix your problem, as this board doesn't support the 2400. That is also the reason you're getting the 55 error code. When you get the new ram, install 2 sticks first in the dimm A positions. Test fire the rig, and then shut it down and install the Dimm B modules. I seen that you've built rigs before, and am not trying to insult your abilities. My personal experience had dimm B slot 2 d.o.a., which gave me the same error code. It's frustrating to get new ram and get that error code again, lol. So I just wanted to share my experience, so you won't get the same sinking feeling I did when it happened to me. Hope that helps. Can I connect two m.2 NVMe drives (e.g. Samsung 960 EVO or PRO) at the same time and see them as separate drives? With or without dedicated GFX card in x16 slot?

Yes you can, but the speed will be limited unless they have updated something in the past 2 years.

Question 5

Does ECC mode on the Asus P10S WS motherboard work effectively with a Core i3 cpu or just a Xeon cpu ?

ECC memory is only supported on Xeon processors.

Anyone using this board with Linux OS? The distro is Fedora, and its purpose is for PHP web pages and email.

Puget systems configures this motherboard with several Linux distros as well as Windows 10. I don't see Fedora listed but I think it would work.

Question 7

What is the lane count with 3 pcie slots in use and 4 pcie slots in use? MSI spells it out, but I have trouble deciphering this information from other manufacturers. Such is the case now. Thanks, in advance!

According to the info provided by ASUS official website...for one graphic cards: x16, for two: x8+x8. The third and forth lanes are both x4 which is only used for add-on-card, eg: m.2 up to 32Gbit/s or usb 3.1.
