ECS PT890T-A V1.0 LGA 775 VIA PT890 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: inexpensive, works fine

Cons: had trouble with LAN drivers, got them to work eventually. Very limited overclocking, couldn't get my E4300 to clock over 1.9Ghz without extreme instability. WindowsXP setup had issue with pci.sys, was never resolved.

Overall Review: I'm not using the SATA ports or onboard sound, front USB connectors are covered by my 8800GTS.

Pros: Cheap price and everything works. I like that it has 2 x PATA slots.

Cons: I would have thought the sound would have been a little better than(or at least as good as) my computer i got 5-6 years ago.

Overall Review: Only thing i wish it had different was 2 more RAM slots, and an IEEE1394 connector so i could hook up the firewire port that came with my case. I personally regret not spending a few more bux on something a little better. But it was my first build and i was kinda being cheap. Just make sure you think about any future upgrades you may want to do before you buy. Right now my best upgrade would be a better mobo. But that doesn't make it a bad mobo, just weigh your options.

Pros: Average board. lots of PCI slots which seems to becoming rarer these days.

Cons: NO support for Linux OS. Sound drivers are practically non-existant. I've been searching for 2 months now for ways to get sound on my machine. You know it's a bad day when your Winblows OS will do something Linux won't.

Pros: Easy to set up, runs great under Windows XP

Cons: Can't get Vista Home Premium to load. I get error BIOS is not ACPI Compliant. Dnloaded latest BIOS from ECS, still no go. ECS says it is only compatible with Vista Home basic??? What! so I'm sending it back....

Pros: This board is a very nice budget board. Of course it's no gaming board, but it is very solid. Everything installed very easily. Running great so far.

Cons: No on board video. Watch that. The sound card isn't great, but it defiantly works.

Overall Review: Runs well with penitum 4 3.0ghz processor, 1gb ddr2 ram, 1 sata hdd and 1 ide hdd, dvd/rw drive and another lightscribe drive. Everything installed fine and worked right out of the box. Newegg had great shipping and customer service.

Pros: Price, that's about it.. Fairly good feature set, IF your board works.

Cons: Arrived with a problem detecting on the SATA-1 port. Couldn't find the floppy drive. wouldn't flash BIOS. Odds are, I simply got a defective board. Still, my trust in ECS has been shaken, as I have only bought two of their boards, and this was one of them. Returned for an RMA.

Overall Review: I'll buy a different brand next time.

Pros: Great value, and it has 4-PCI, which I was very happy about (if your power can handle it of course). I am very happy with the overclocking capabilities of this board. Very easy to do, though sometimes could be a bad thing if you aren't sure what you're doing.

Cons: So far, the only thing I can complain about is the lack of gig ethernet. But, that only really helps if you do a lot of data transfer across a network, which I do not do right now.

Overall Review: Lol, make sure you plug in the extra +12v power connection. I scratched my head for over 2 hours trying to figure out why it was turning on but not going anywhere.

Pros: If it worked as it should, it would be a great mobo.

Cons: This low quality motherboard arrived with what appeared to be dried milk stains. Needless to saw, it didn't work. (I don't even know why I tried installing it.)

Overall Review: Go with an Asus motherboard--much more reliable!
