can this be used with and amd socket am3 b73 chip?

That's what I used on it, but unlike other boards it will not recognize any extra masked cores. In another board the 3 core chip had 4 cores. 
The board was good for an internet/Netflix type machine- Not a gamer even after adding a video card. In the end it was free after the rebate.

whats the min needed for a power supply? dont see specs for that anywhere

I do not know. It is up to what CPU You are going to use. Cd rom ,hard drive . memory etc. I always use the best power more power than better. But  You can always try if You have old spare power supply-- the rest  it up to You. Start from CPU , how much power  it needs to operate properly  . St

is it compatible with amd phenom x4 9550 processor ?

I cant say for sure because Im using an AMD FX-4300 in this motherboard that I purchased from Newegg of course. I imagine if you go to ECS's website for support there would be a compatibility list. Also you could go to AMD's site to find compatible motherboards for that CPU. The manual that came with this board only says Phenom II but doesn't specify exact models. It does say it supports only up to 100 watt CPU's. I hope I helped a little.
Its been a good system for me just using it to convert VHS tapes to digital and using the onboard video.

i see no reason that card shouldnt work there may be a bios update or something in bios settings to get it working but it should certainly work and if it doesnt i would get a replacement board

Im using an Amd FX 8320 with this, and has anyone gotten the error code "cmos settings wrong"? I resetted the cmos, tried different sticks of ram, processor, and powersupply. It gives me one short beep. Then 30 seconds later another short beep. 30 seconds later another short beep, and with that one the screen turns black. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have a suggestion to solve it?

what brands and memory speeeds r u using?r u using the onboard video?try to update or flash the bios.try a video card.i havent had this error.but will give u possibilities of what could be going on.what size power supply.im using a phenom processor,16 gb of team memory,nvidia gtx 650 video card.power supply is a apevia 450 watt.

i have two questions, one being that will this fit in a dell optiplep 760 case and the other is if a nvidia geforce 8800 gts vidoe card will fit on this thing?

Just a little bit of research and I'm going to give you a No, and a Yes.  Dell is weird, and they build their computers on the other side of the case.  So looking from the front, their Mobo is on the left....most others are on the right.  Can you flip this one around and mount it in the case?  Probably not, it would be upside down and nothing would really match up.  do a google search for images of the case.
So the GeForce 8800 isn't too huge, I think any standard case it would work pretty well.  If you're going for a smaller case, it would be pretty tight between your vid card and your hard drive.

if you already have the proc. and mobo give it a try.
if you have the proc. only and are looking for a mobo to purchase, i would go with a better mobo. 
i ran an athlon II quad-core that i picked up used for $50 and currently have a sempron single core installed in mine. both worked/are working with no problems.

The minimum is 640x480. Haven't tried the maximum with the onboard graphics but it defaulted to that when first starting it up.

No It only goes up to Sata 2.0 otherwise known as Sata GB/s
