BIOSTAR TpowerX58 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: good quality nice packaging, looks great in an open case easy to overclock 100% solid very nice layout all over. Its an i7 with both SLI or XFIRE has plenty of everything! nothing interfers with anything. the fact that despite being a new platform I have had "0" issues or problems at all. has nice simple BIOS with built in memtest for you OCers such as myself. this is my first i7 which I was reluctant to buy being that I have a great C2D rig that is only 6 months old, which I might say still holds its own, but this is better and games do run better even in Vista Ultimate SP1 32bit.

Cons: Lamers that are saying this board wont OC over 3gigs? all I can say to you is just because you are a newbie to OCing and the awesome i7 core , dont make this great board look bad because out of my 10years of OCing on some of the best platforms available this thing even Blows my Mind!!!its that good.

Overall Review: My Rig OCed 2 days old starting with mild OC till she burns in, Ops by mild I'm @ 167mhzX21=3.5Ghz at AUTO Vcore (1.0-1.3) Mem 2:8=1336Mhz 3X1Gb Lat @6-6-6-18 manual 1.65V Temps between CPU temps 39c-61c using only a Zalman 9500(92mm) in an Antec Skeleton Case. Also running Dual OC edition 9800GT's in SLI stk700mhz@ 42c-52c GPU temps all day long! and yes this setup will run all games to date at very high settings w/ max AA and maintain very good FPS. even Crysis 45+ on max settings in DX10,and yes It even Beats my Gigabyte P45/ e8500 C2D @ 4.0ghz with a GTX260 OC edtion Rig and makes less heat! bottom line is this is one of the best motherboards for the money available and one of the best Ive used in over 10 years worth of builds.

Pros: Awesome Board. Overclocking is simple....just set the FSB and the voltages automatically adjust. The voltages on my CPU never go above what the manufacturer recommends, and my system is completely stable with the i7 920 overclocked to 3.2 GHZ. Installation was very smooth. I've tried several other X58 boards, and this is the one i love. The packaging was also excellent.....you can tell this company takes the time to make sure their boards are packaged safely. I've been building computer systems for years, and this is hands-down my favorite board.

Cons: No built in wi-fi....but that is ok :)

Overall Review: My system: Intel i7 920 @ 3200 1.235v, 6GB triple channel crucial memory at 1200 7-7-7-20 1.5v, Velociraptor HD, Sapphire ATI 4870, windows vista 64-bit, SeaSonic 650 watt power supply.

Pros: This motherboard has a real quality feel to it, has a nice layout, and overclocks extremely easily. Board comes with plenty of accessories to connect whatever you can throw at it. As the person before me said, the 21 multiplier available on this board is very nice, and not available on all x58 boards using the 920 or 940.

Cons: The only reason I am not giving this board 5 eggs is because I had a bad memory channel and was unable to read anything that was in slot A. After speaking with a Biostar rep I do believe this is to be a random manufacturing defect and not an ongoing issue with other boards. Biostar technical support was quick to respond and identify the problem and too recommend an RMA.

Overall Review: As usual Newegg customer service was great and is shipping a replacement and even upgraded the shipping to overnight free of charge. Side note - The memory I purchased to go with this board is 3x2 gskill 1600mhz at 9-9-9-24. When overclocking the board picked up the 9-9-9-24 correctly but left the extended timings at default (i guess it was default) of 9-9-9-24-5-5-5-5-5 which was incorrect and caused a failure to boot. After figuring out this was the problem it was easily resolved by filling in the remaining numbers manually. I used 9-9-9-24-6-11-5-6-72

Pros: Can't get any better then this board and tech support. Had a small issue at first with the primary ram slot e-mailed them and bam less then 15 minutes had an answer from them and the correct answer.

Pros: Great X58 Mobo. Great price compared to other 1366 mobos. Set up was a breeze. Bios updated to the latest in a snap. And now I am running my i7-920 at 3.2 GHz without a hiccup. I let the included SW work the OC for me and it has been perfect so far.

Cons: None that I have seen.

Pros: This is my first x58 mobo and i am glad i chose this one. I carefully reviewed my options, this board features an automatic overclocking engine which is great for overclocking noobs. Vast array of CMOS options, great board that is well laid out. Dual lan, 6 usb's, HD audio, 6 sata, 2 esata. PS2 for keyboard, no ps2 for mouse (that's a pro, who needs a ps2 for a mouse these days). USB keyboard works in CMOS!

Cons: You will need the bios update to fix the ram bug (more than 4gb causes issues). SATA's are side mounted, Not a big deal if you got a case that has room. Stickers! Mine weren't as bad, but left partial stick on pcie slots, but took my fingernail and got it off. Took 3 minutes if that, not a big deal, peel slowly. What were they thinking?

Overall Review: Got it, dropped it in with a core i7 920, 6 gb of ram. If the mobo isn't booting, make sure you got a ram stick in one of the white slots. Didn't catch that at first, i don't read manuals usually.

Pros: Great layout. Great Quality. No problems at all installing. I like the case it comes with. BIOSTAR seems to put pride in their work

Cons: Had the same problem with the stickers...but seriously...are you not going to buy a motherboard because the stickers take an extra 30 mins to peal off? is that going the be the make or break decision on the motherboard you buy?

Overall Review: First system i've built and booted up fine and had no problems at all. From reading these reviews I was expecting the worst and hoping for the best. Im begining to think that the few bad reviews it gets are mostly from the users not doing something right.

Pros: It looks really good. It has some really nice features. Feels top notch, not light, heavy made. Lots of sata plugs. The Copper on it looks really nice. Seems really stable. The led light that shows cpu temp is coool. Bios is pretty nice. Posted first try! Included software for windows oc'd my 920 i7 from 2.6 to 3.2 the first try! Really nice features, I would by this if putting together an i7 system. Comes with 6 sata cables! A nice mesh sleeve for them and the book!

Cons: Does not see my 1866 memory as that, not a big deal just saying. Some codes on my motherboard led are not in my book? The good far out does the bad.

Overall Review: I love this board would by agian anytime. My system is this board, a i7 920, Coarsair 520 modular power supply, 6 gig of 1866 ocz reaper memory, 1.5tb seagate barracuda hd, gigabyte radeon 4870 video with hdmi! Pioneer blue ray, Asus dvd, Xclio case, a zallman 9700 cooler with the converter bracket, could not have been easier to install. All in all this system and newegg have rocked my socks! I am running this on vista 32 bit home premium. I got Corel windvd 9 blue ray edition for my blue ray playback, it is good stuff! The 4870 hooked hdmi to my 40 inch lcd is very nice in high def. I likey blue-ray! All in all system and newegg are pretty great! Would recommend this board to anybody.
