Will the M.2B Socket (PCIE Gen. 2.0) on this board accept  the SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2 2280 1TB PCIe Gen 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.3 V-NAND 3-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V7S1T0B/AMconnector? I believe the M.2.A socket is compatible but not sure about the M.2B socket since it is PCIe Gen. 2.

Is the M.2 SSD a good choice to load the operating system and gaming software on or is their a better option.

I purchased both the MB & M.2 card from Newegg for my new build and want to know my best options.
Some of the reviews I read on this MB had issues with the operating system installed on the M.2 card plugged in the M.2A Socket but would work fine in the m.2B socket. Is this really an issue?

Hello there,

Thank you for contacting us in regards to your question. The Samsung 970 EVO would be compatible with the M.2B socket. However it would be limited to Gen 2 speeds which still out perform what Sata is capable of. Regarding the issue you have read regarding the M.2A socket, I recommend contacting the manufacturer, GIGABYTE, for more information and possible assistance on this concern. Gigabyte has on their site a Bios version F40 that, from what I understand is for the 3000 series support. I use version F31 having a Ryzen 5 2600x in mine.

This is likely a dumb question, but in every photo the lighting is orange, is that changeable to multiple colors?

The GIGABYTE X470 AORUS GAMING 7 WIFI-50 AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s ATX AMD Motherboard has two ATX_12Vs (an 8 pin and a 4 pin for CPU power). The manual that comes with the board does not specify if you use only the eight pin or both the eight pin and four pin. So my question is, do you connect power to just the eight pin or just the four pin, or both?

I just finished my build and am not powering it until I have an answer.

Is this motherboard going to be shipped ready for Ryzen 3000? I know it's compatible, but I mean is the bios going to be updated out of the box to be ready? I'll be building a Ryzen system from scratch next month so I won't have a current CPU to update the motherboard's BIOS to be Zen 2 ready.

Hello Ricardo, There is no guarantee that the board you get will have the updated BIOS nor is there a way for us to guarantee that before shipment. The best you can expect is to buy the board in hopes that it has a sticker or label confirm Ryzen 3rd Gen ready when you receive it. Otherwise you may want to consider contacting AMD to see if they are still doing the loaner CPU kit program where they send you a cheap (but compatible) CPU to install and get the system up and running in order to update the BIOS.
