The P45TURBOTWINS2000 from ASRock is a great choice for an upgrade board. This LGA775 board supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory so you can use your DDR2 memory to start and when you need more speed then you can switch the memory out for DDR3. The P45 chipset supports Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme processors as well as Core 2 Duo with 1333/1600/2000(OC) FSB.
The motherboard has everything you would expect. It has 6 SATA ports plus 2 eSATA ports (shared with the internal ports) for drives and an ATA133 header for legacy drives. There are 6xUSB ports on the back panel and 2 headers for 4 more ports. A 7.1 channel audio system with analog and SPDIF ports completes the picture.
The motherboard supports overclocking and tuning with Intelligent Overclocking Technologiy and the ASRock OC Tuner. It also has jumper adjustments to ensure stable performance at any speed.
