ASRock P55 Deluxe LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Easy install, great looking board, components thoughtfully laid out. I bought this with G.Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL7D-4GBRH - Retail. Board Picked up advertised timings of 7-7-7-21 FIRST TRY! like the clear cmos button on I/O panel, wicked convenient. haven't tried sata 3 card, but its a nice extra, especially when almost every other company is reducing "extras" to save $. Instant boot is a pretty cool feature, and who cares if it takes long to setup, you're supposed to set it and walk away, not time it, what matters is that it only takes 4-8 seconds to have a working OS when you power it back up. I like the legacy connectors, even if I haven't used them, because some PPL like re-using old stuff till it breaks, lol. My last setup was Q6600 @ 3.3 Ghz, this blows my Q6600 out of the water, AT STOCK SPEEDS! but thats not to say the board isn't without faults- see below.

Cons: The asrock I.E.S. loads on startup, no matter what. and the B.I.O.S. isn't thoughtfully laid out, or maybe i'm just used to my old AMI BIOS, but almost everything is there. overclocking is way too easy on this board- for fear of overclocking too high, I returned I7-860 to default clocks, I figure it's fast enough for now, I'll overclock when i'm used to the speed. i'm sure anyone could nit-pick anything if they want, but regardless of the perceived cons, my 5 egg score still stands! ANYONE LOOKING TO DEDUCT EGGS FOR PERCEIVED FAULTS, READ OTHER POSTS, YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY SEE THE FAULT IS YOUR OWN, NOT THE BOARDS! (I.E. 32 bit os not showing more than 4 gigs of ram) anyway read reviews, might actually solve perceived problem.

Overall Review: coming from a BIOSTAR board, i'm very happy with everything! gotta love newegg, my order consisting of asrock p55-deluxe, g.skill ripjaws, Sunbeam PSU-ECO750-US-BL 750W ATX12V 2.3 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - OEM Item #: N82E16817709021, Intel core I7-860 processor, and Acronis True Image 2009, Transcend 4 G flash drive, and artic silver- ALL ARRIVED WITHIN 24 HOURS!! GO NEWEGG!! ALSO- i'm glad board has LGA 775+1156 mounting holes, because i was able to re-use my zalman 9500 cooler. with stock HSF my idle temps were ~ 35 and load w/prime 95 was over 75, but with zalman my idle temps are ~ 27 and full load temp w/prime 95 is less than 50 degrees WOW! BUY THIS BOARD AND YOU WILL BE SATISFIED!! just make sure to research EVERYTHING you buy, especiall the cpu cooler/heatsink, and everything will go together smooth! ASROCK AND NEWEGG HAVE CUSTOMERS FOR LIFE!

Pros: Great top of the line board with all the advanced features at a great price. This one wins the bang for buck award hands down. Solid overclocking potential with every option and tweak you'd need. Software overclocking tools make testing overclocks a lot easier so that you're not restarting the computer a thousand times to change BIOS settings. Being able to flash the BIOS inside the BIOS from a USB drive was fantastic.

Cons: Don't buy this board for the included SATA/3 adapter. I'm not sure mine works, at least it doesn't with an optical drive. Nor does it show up in device manager, but some reviews suggested this is normal. I'll try it with a hard drive in the future, but I don't have my hopes up. The newer AMI BIOS's take longer and longer to POST. This one takes a good 7-8 seconds.

Overall Review: 8 pin CPU power connector is WAY up high. If you have a case with the power supply mounted at the bottom, yours probably won't reach. Mine barely did. The board accepts Socket 775 coolers. I was able to use my Coolermaster Hyper 212 with no problem, thus saving myself $40. Overclocking was a breeze, though there are a lot of settings you will have to educate yourself on. I was able to get my i5-750 to about 3.9ghz (195 bclk x 20). I haven't had a whole lot of time to tweak, so it may go further.

Pros: *Nice feature set for a midrange/budget board. *P55 where the PCI-E runs in 8x/8x bandwidth mode *Seems stable

Cons: *When installing Windows 7 x64 on 2 RAID 0 drives, it incorrectly identifies the 'proper' raid driver to use... I couldn't figure out why windows would get to the last leg of finalizing the installation, only to fail. The solution (inelegant though it was), was the load the whole list of 'incompatible with your system' drivers that were all near identically named from those available. Not sure why that is, but after a couple frustrating hours, it seems to be working perfectly. *The paper and disk based documentation did not seem to fit the bios actually installed on the board, not a biggie to me but it could be a pain to some.

Overall Review: I wish it had USB 3.0, but ya cant have everything at this price. Bios shipped were the most recent version.

Overall Review: TO:maxxxem7771 The Problem with your ram also depends on if you installed the 32 or the 64 bit versions of your OS. If you have installed the 32-bit version. Windows will only recognize 4GB. And then it takes out for the main system resources.

Pros: The board design, layout, and features are all excellent.

Cons: The first motherboard arrived DOA and would not post. I wasted much time trying to troubleshoot the problem. While I waited for the RMA, I bought a "temporary" motherboard and experienced no problems. I rebuilt the system again with the RMA replacement and the board failed after one month. I rebuilt with the "temporary"motherboard and my system is running fine. I have lost my trust in ASRock and decided to eat the cost since there is not a refund policy.

Overall Review: I could not figure out how to have the cpu fan speed controlled by the temperature of the cpu. The BIOS and software do not seem to work in this regard.

Pros: Easy - easy - easy. I read the reviews here which included a note on which RAM slots to use (and it *is* documented) and it worked on the first go.

Cons: I've swapped hardware but never built a machine from the ground up. This board seems to have a tight fit into the Antec 900 case. By tight I mean it seems I have to be very careful as I install cards into the slots or they don't want to fit. Again, I'm chalking this one up to my being a novice.

Overall Review: Mine too shipped with 1.0 BIOS. I loaded up Windows 7 x64 and my apps before I flashed the BIOS. After the BIOS upgrade, 1) I can see all 4 G of RAM and 2) the memory speed score has gone up alot. Nice. Now on to teaching myself the ins and outs of overclocking ;)

Pros: This is my 3rd build in the last year based on ASROCK boards and I've never had it so easy. The board is as easy as it gets to set up, systems are beyond stable and ASRock tech support is (for the most part) excellent. I originally bought ASRock because I thought I might get all the quality of ASUS for less money--I was wrong. My experience with these mobo's has been superior in every way to ASUS, and they ARE cheaper too!

Cons: My own limited tech knowledge led me to buy memory that was too fast for my processor--my bad. However, the ASRock Tech tried to tell me that I should set the DDR rate on the mb to HALF the memory rating, since DDR means "Double Data Rate", ergo setting it at 800 would double it and be the 1000 my memory was rated for...WRONG.

Overall Review: Mostly ASRock tech support has been extremely helpful, easy to reach and extraordinarily competent.

Pros: Easy to install, work very well with windows 7 64

Cons: Need to update the BIOS to get use of all of your memory. Easy to do.

Overall Review: I have not tried to overclock, I am running the Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz. With that there is no need IMHO. 8 geg mem.
