ASRock P55 Extreme LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: p55 board, 4 DIMM slots, supports Crossfire / SLI, tons of ports, and most importantly CHEAP for how good it is Also, unlike a couple others who wrote reviews, it recognized my 1600 G.Skill RAM as the advertised settings without having me make any adjustments.

Cons: As others have stated, the SATA ports are located right behind where your HDD bay is going to be, causing a slight problem in some cases. However, no egg deduction, as even a little bit of research (i.e. looking at the pictures) can show you this Also had a problem booting Windows 7 from my DVD drive. Was freezing at the post screen. Easily fixed by flashing the bios

Overall Review: Used this in my first ever build, everything came together easily. My setup: Antec 900 II ASRock p55 Extreme Intel Core i5 XFX HD5770 G.Skill 2x2gb 1600 DDR3 Seagate Barracuda 500gb OCZ StealthStream 500W

Pros: Quality Board, Easy to understand Bios with multiple saves. OC with Turbo is an easy 3.8 GHZ on Air. Solid feel to the board.

Cons: No user support forum like EVGA-I miss this for OC advise and settings that others have used. I installed W7 from a clean install and I could not get the on board nic to work. No matter what I did. I removed in device manager and then re installed. Nothing. Trust me I have a pretty high level of tech experience and the only solution was to install Vista64 and then load the NIC drivers and then do the upgrade to W7. This was a PITA since I already had W7 installed. Once I fixed that issues everything else was smooth. Just beware.

Overall Review: Having come from a series of EVGA MB's I took a chance and so far I have not been disappointed. The AsRock is solid and OC my I5 to 3.8 on air was very easy. Just beware of the issue with the NIC if you are going to do a clean install of W7

Pros: Great Board, a lot of features, don't let the name scare you off, if you are llooking for an awesome performer, but at a reasonable price, i'd go with this one. the combo cooler is brilliant, gives my dark knight new life, without have to get a new bracket for it :).

Cons: the area with the cpu, is kinda cramped. the first pci-e slot sets kinda high,and it almost touches my cooler when a card is in there, and the heatsinks on the mosfet's, are higher and closer to the cpu socket than they are on a 775 board and my cooler sets on top of the one by the top of the board. but then again, i do have a xigmatek darknight, which is a big boy all its own.

Overall Review: don't let the cons scare you away, this is a very excellent board, that has features on it, that the most expensive boards do not. dr. debug is a brilliant and let me quickly and easily find out why the overclock wouldn't start, and the clear cmos button on the back of the case under the ps2 ports, is brilliant as well, saves me a lot of time, so i don't have to open my case, turn it on its side, grab a flash light, and then have to remove a cable or a card, so my bear sized hands, can grab a little small jumper i know my hot dog fingers are going to drop.

Pros: Quality. Great BIOS. Great overclocking.

Overall Review: I was leery about AsRock as I don't know anything about them but have seen their stuff showing up on the lower economy of motherboards for a few months. Gave them a shot here. Wow! I am very happy with the quality, build and super BIOS on this board. I've built computers with top-end (well over $200) Asus and EVGA P55 boards and this one is right up there and in some ways better than a handful of $200+ P55 boards.

Pros: None

Cons: Worked ok for about three weeks. Then one day it just straight up quit. couple days later I tried starting up the computer. Saw an arc by the sound ports, smelled burning electronics and the thing started working(??)... Now I get all around poor performance. Can't even game it's so bad. Asrock customer support seems to be giving me the run around. Bad experience, wouldn't recommend this board to an enemy.

Overall Review: Bad.

Pros: This motherboard has alot of features for a board in the low end spectrum.

Cons: It died on me in less than a week.

Overall Review: I had this board up and running in an i7-860 rig for about 4 days. Put everything together and it booted up on the first try. I installed Windows 7 and proceeded to use it normally. I did some light gaming on it and always ran a temp/voltage monitoring program on my 2nd monitor while playing and never noticed an issue. One night I had the machine on and came back about 30 minutes later. The machine was off. I was baffled and tried to turn it back on. Nothing. I proceeded to open up the side of the case and took a look around. Nothing seemed out of whack. I unplugged the power cable from the power supply and let it sit for a bit. When I plugged it back in and tried to start the machine up a loud POP was heard and then I saw a spark emit from under the power phaser heat sink. There is one other review on newegg that described the exact same problem. It was probably a fluke but I took it as a sign to return it and order a higher end name brand board.

Pros: This thing is AWESOME!!! All the 5egg reviews were why I bought this Mobo and I couldn't be happier!!! Thanks to all who posted before me!!! With the Easy OC it was so simple!!! Tell it how fast you want to go and BOOM! your there!!! I bought the Corsair H50 CPU cooler and it REALLY worked nice with this Mobo!!! I turned down the voltage from what it was set at until it became unstable the just bumped it back up and I have been at over 4GHz with my I5 750 for over a month now with no issues!!!

Cons: It wasn't available in a combo deal with the I5 750 CPU....

Overall Review: This was my first time to try ASRock but I had heard it was apart of ASUS so I gave it a try and this thing is AWESOME!!! Definitly worth the small price for such big performance!!! With it & 2 EVGA 280's in SLI I was able to obtain a 3D Vantage score of over 27500!!! With a $139 Motherboard and a $199 I5 CPU now that is BIG BANG for your BUCK!!!

Pros: Great board when running...

Cons: Behaved a bit erratically from the beginning (system would go on standby and never turn back on). Died after about 10 or so hours of use (estimated) but this was technically past the 30 day return policy (didn't build system until about a month after I ordered board due to waiting for out of stock parts). It took almost three weeks to do the paperwork, mail back to ASRock, wait for ASRock to process, and then receive a replacement from ASRock. New board works great but the hassle is hardly worth it. Given the number of negative reviews, it seems that ASRock's quality control is lacking. Too much junk is sent out the door and you, the consumer, is left footing the RMA bill and sucking up the lost time. Hardly seems fair...
