ASRock B85M Pro4 LGA 1150 Intel B85 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: First and most importantly, I have ordered and installed many ASRock boards in the last 12 months and have had 0-ZERO DOA. Frankly, that makes me like them better than ALL the competition. I have installed loyally two other brands that will remain unnamed here, since 2005. I have never installed a board that is this easy. Secondly, ASRock is very forgiving on initial installation where drivers are concerned. That makes them awesome for Microsoft Windows PE rebuilds and for OEM installs as I no longer have to rewrite my answer file EVERY stinking time a board changes some little things. May not be a big thing for the big OEM's, but I am a one man show, and every minute I am wasting trying to build a new OEM install image is a minute I can't make money! Thirdly, this totally lazy ease with drivers and startups make these ASRock boards perfect for a board-out rebuild. These boards have saved me hours, many hours and in doing so have made me $$$.

Cons: the EUFI can be a little twitchy, but it works, is reliable and really isn't an issue if you read the book. I have no real complaints. I love this board.

Overall Review: I definitely completely and wholeheartedly recommend this board! I need all the simplicity and reliability I can get and so far, ASRock boards have provided it. I couldn't be happier. They have been so much easier to work with that I would give six stars if possible. These boards are a breath of fresh air.

Pros: Power connectors, switch plugs and USB connectors are spaced well as to not cause crowding of cabling.

Cons: PCIe 3.0 slot is a bit close to the RAM slots. Larger video cards sit right below the RAM slots with only about 1mm-2mm clearance. No clearance when you have the RAM locks open. Was getting the same error as another review. Both Channel A_1 and A_2 on the board would not read RAM slotted in. Channel B_1 and B_2 would read RAM without any issue. Board would report a memory error on BIOS boot with Channel A and ask to be reseated. Tried the options suggested by the company in the other review but that did not solve the memory issue at all. Updating firmware and reseating connectors did not resolve the issue. Issue appears to be that the Channel A slots can not read the RAM slotted in.

Overall Review: The rest of the board works but not being able to dual channel memory is a factor. RMA'd the board back for a replacement. Hoping the next one will work without issue.

Cons: I'm going to report what happened after I posted my last review "Half of memory slots not working". I have tried everything as the so called "ASRock support" said, but obviously no luck. So I contacted their custom service by email and see what advices they can offer. I got the reply said that I may have a defective processor from Intel. (Are you sure?) To confirm their reply, I brought the computer to a nearby computer repair store and let them have an inspection for me. And I was told that quite surely it's a defective mobo. And now I just realize I'm not alone as Revolver Bunker has a defect mobo with the same problem as me. And there's even another DOA below that. I brought an ASRock mobo 2 years ago on AMD platform and that was a DOA either. Returned that and got a Biostar, sweet. Now...... Not again!

Pros: It was good while it lasted

Cons: The motherboard was good while it lasted with the time I had with it. After a week of using the motherboard with my graphics card all I get is a blue screen with a TDR thing on Windows 8.1. I downgraded to 7 and now all I'm getting is a black screen after the windows logo. I've been trying to fix this problem for the past 2 weeks and just keep getting frustrated by the end of the day. The only thing that works is the onboard video, and not the PCIE slots for some reason.

Pros: Never had any real problems with Asrock, certainly seems they provide a quality product with a price lower than expected.

Cons: Just the HD audio connector, I am a bit OCD.

Overall Review: If anyone from Asrock reads this, the HD audio connector next to the cpu fan? and above the pcie slot, wouldn't it be better to have the connector near the bottom of the card, with the USB's and com plugs? makes for a lot easier cable management :) Thanks for a great product :)

Pros: Works great. No problems! I have a 4771, 16gb G.skill, with a MSI GTX 660 with windows 8.1.

Cons: none right now

Overall Review: Runs Autodesk maya and mudbox just fine!

Pros: Solid board, no problems

Cons: None really, maybe the PCI-Express location could be a bit better is all.

Overall Review: These are electronics, ASRock and Asus have been my go to boards for some time, and rarely do I have any issues.

Pros: I liked the design and layout of the motherboard. For the most part, easy to hook up.

Cons: Could have used 1 more USB 3.0 header in exchange for one of the USB 2.0 headers...not a big deal.

Overall Review: The graphics card I bought covers one of the PCI slots rendering the PCI slot unusable. Probably my fault for building a gaming computer with a Micro ATX form factor. Some of the supporting documentation and software is written by someone who does not speak english as a first language. Again, not a big deal, but it does make you wonder just a bit about the quality. Couldn't get the manufacturer's Intel Management Engine driver to install. (Running Win7 64) Doesn't seem to matter.
