Looking at this   board and looking at putting a m2   hard drive on it   but  cant  seem to see   where it would  mount in the pics?

The M2 slot is just below the right corner of the lower PCIe 16x slot, just to the left of the upper left corner of the heat sink embossed with "ASRock Fatal1ty" and just above and right of the white "nVidia SLI" text.

It's perpendicular to the PCIe slots.

If you zoom in on the labeled vertical picture, the M2 slot says "4VK8" inside it.

Question 2

Hello I would like to know what is the fastest memory I can run in this board?  I am looking at FPS gaming and wanted to see if I am able to place lets say 3200 Vengeance Ram in this thing.  What is fastest and then I will be buying that with this board :)

There's really no record of people running RAM at that speed on this board, but since Fatal1ty themselves say it can run 3200 Mhz and up, and the XMP profiles do go that high in the BIOS, I doubt you'd have any issues. Do note, though, that memory past 1600 Mhz really doesn't add much benefit to games right now except for Battlefield 4 (where even there it's still minimal benefit). The amount extra you pay really isn't worth it past 2400 Mhz, and you could always get some of that and overclock it. Corsair makes some 2400 Mhz flavors too. By the way, you're gonna love this board. It's really awesome.

Question 3

New PC:  I'm consistently getting Dr. Debug error message code 15 on power-up, indicating an (unspecified) memory problem.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled my DIMM's multiple times, cleared CMOS, etc.--have tried 4 DIMM's, 2 DIMM's (in different pairs of slots), 1 DIMM, etc.: Still get code 15.

Question:  Now, belatedly, I see that the specific model of GSkil Ripjaw memory I have is NOT on the ASRock approved list for this MoBo.  Could it really be that picky?  Do I need to return the DIMMS  to Newegg and get an absolutely positively approved model/set?

Is your PC booting successfully aside from the error code?

Search for "Dr. Debug" and you find a number of threads about similar error messages appearing even though the PC works fine otherwise. If you want to satisfy yourself that the memory is OK, I suggest you install all 4 DIMMs and run MemTest86 over night.

IMHO, if there is a real problem it's probably a bad mobo. (I never glanced at the approved memory list and I doubt the mobo is picky as long as the CAS timings are appropriate).

Just started to load windows on a crucial 480 gb sad on the m.2 port super excited to start testing the system

Question 5

How do I adjust the BIOS settings so that my M.2 card is recognized as bootable?  I have installed a samsung SM951 512GB card that is listed as compatible by ASRock.

There is a setting under the storage section where you either put it to Auto if you have an M.2 and another drive on that particular set of sata connections or you put it to Force M.2.  Then you go to your hard drive boot priority and select the Samsung.

Hi there. I was wondering if you guys like the features overall. If they are really useful. Can the bios/setup control de FANs, like a decent FAN Software controller would, with a speeds/temp graph?

What can you tell me about Creative Sound? Is it really different from the regular Realtek Sound?

Killer LAN NIC is really troublesome?

How do you guys like this motherboard? Any fancy solution you wanna point out? Like why is this one better?

I think you can set the fans in the Bios to different RPM settings.

Yes the Creative Sound is good but I am only using headphones so I don't know if their is a difference from Realtek using a sound system.

Overall I like it over other brands I have used. I mainly got it because of the Creative sound chip.

Not that I am aware of. SPDIF out supports Dolby Digital and DTS Audio.
