How many dimm slots on this board?  This listing says 4, but photo shows 2.

It's 4. Not sure what picture you're looking at, but there are 4 slots in the pictures I see. I also have the board, and can confirm, yes, there are 4 slots.

Question 2

Is it possible to remove the vertical M.2 card and replace with a PCIE flexible extension to add a SATA HBA card? Essentially, can the PCIE slot where the M.2 sit be repurposed? Thanks!

There's more to that card than just an M.2 connector so you can't simply replace it, and the connector on the motherboard itself is nonstandard.  You could theoretically leave the board in and use one of the various M.2 to PCIe x4 slot adapters and then connect a flexible riser to that.  It would depend significantly on how much space your CPU cooler leaves you.

You could also use an M.2 to U.2 adapter and then run a standard U.2 drive cable to a U.2 to PCIe x4 slot adapter.  A U.2 connector isn't exactly low profile but perhaps it would afford a bit more room.

Question 3

Specification page says 288 pin DIMM, but those are clearly SO-DIMM slots in the picture. What is the correct ram size? Is the qualified vendor list available yet?

can this motherboard run both mac os and windows?

It can probably be made to run OSX, but it would be a lot of work. I tried using the most recent TonyMacX86 guide and utilities, and it didn't work. There's a separate guide just for X299, but it was pretty a complicated process, and I wasn't interested enough to follow through.

What water coolers are compatible with this motherboard? Can you give me some examples?

I would assume that anything which supports the LGA2066 socket would work.  I am using a Swiftech H140X in a slightly modded Silverstone SG11 case and there are no issues with clearance.  I would expect clearance issues with many air coolers because of the tall items near the socket, but not with most water blocks or closed loop coolers.

How big of air coolers can we expect to fit on this board?

It will most likely depend on your case, but assuming you'll be wanting to go small, you'll want to consider a low-profile cooler.

Also since the side riser cards and memory slots are so close to the CPU, if you consider a CPU cooler that 'balloons' larger than the LGA-2066 area, make sure the expanding portions have enough rise to clear the height of any memory or the motherboard riser cards.
