PNY MBM630I7100 LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 / nForce 630i Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: I was building a cheap computer to use as a media server and HDTV turner to sit by the TV and play video, napster, mp3's, photos, etc. It was never meant to be a game computer. I made the mistake initially of buying a basic Intel motherboard that only had PCI slots. The onboard video with that one was poor - too poor to even run Netflix well. Rather than buy one of the few and expensive low-profile PCI cards, I ordered this MB. For less than $50 after rebate, I got a DVI output and a real decent video engine built on to the card. With my E6600 and 2GB of RAM, I get a Vista video score of 3.9. I am happy with that.

Cons: Compared to the Intel board, the PNY had poor documentation. Where Intel has everything on the board clearly labeled and documented, it was more of an educated guess with the PNY. Also, for some reason, the power LED doesn't light up when the power is on. It does blink, however, when it is sleeping. It could be something I did, but I don't think so.

Overall Review: For a MB that costs less than most video cards, and comes with very a very competent video driver and sound card, this is a real bargain!

Pros: Not much to say about a board that just works. It just works.

Cons: The included USB adapter that gives you access to 4 more USB ports on the back of your machine has the last screw a bit too low which makes it challenging to install flush in most PCI slots.

Pros: -2 day shipping -GPU built in -not DOA -price -added cables, parts, etc -instructional paper

Cons: -no SLI -ethernet driver won't install** -only 1 IDE port -only 2 PCI ports, and one PCI-E x16

Overall Review: it took me about 10 minutes of swearing and anger managment to realize that the picture showing the power on/reset switch was opposite of what it is normally on other computers. i thought it was DOA when i pressed power and nothing happened. luckily i found out how to get it running fine. **all the drivers installed except for the ethernet. idk whats up with that, but the Marvell Mini-whatever doesnt do its part! ive gone to Nvidia, Marvell, tried the disc, nothing! i ended up having to use my old wireless card. i still cant fix the LAN to work. pretty dissapointed in that. otherwise, good board, cheap price. the GPU really works especially if you have an Nvidia/GeForce card like i do. PNY is a pretty good company, would buy and recommend.

Pros: I just called to verify my CPU being supported by this board, BEFORE I place my order. As with all things I checked the website, but it wasn't specific enough, so I called support. After 2 minutes of not answering the automated help, I got transfered to an actual support tech! And get this, he spoke ENGLISH! No foreign accent, but an actual American tech. He didn't have the exact answer I was looking for, BUT... he did give me his numberand direct extension, for me to call him back tomorrow, so he could go get my answer. This is a PRO in my book for any company! Also, At the begining of the conversation, he asked for my name and telephone number. Of couse I asked why... the answer I got was; "so I can call you back if we get disconnected." ANOTHER PRO for me, as this has happended to me a few times in the past, only to have to call back and wait for a new person to hopefully answer and I would most certainly have to start from the begining again.

Cons: I am yet to purchase this particular product, pending my answer, so NO cons.

Overall Review: I always wondered about who PNY was/is. I have a few of thier other products and have no complaints whatsoever. But if I did have any problems, it's great to know that I can call AND actually get help.
