Foxconn 945P7AA-8KS2 LGA 775 Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Perfect! Worked right out of the box. Cheapest motherboard with 4 240-Pin ddr2 slots, PCI express x16 slot, HD 8 channel audio. Efficient and attractive heatsinks, and smells good, and Delivered on my birthday.

Cons: Had to update bios to install vista.

Overall Review: At first Windows vista ultimate wouldn't complete installation. I Downloaded the updated bios from the foxconn website. Created a DOS boot cd with the program PowerIso. I downloaded the DOS Boot image i found on google. and loaded the image "iso" Then I added the updated bios files I downloaded from the foxconn website to the disk and burned the cd. I set CDROM as the first boot device, saved the Bios, Rebooted to load the cd. After it loads DOS select the drive the cd is in. Example. d:\ Type d:\run afu865.exe it loads the Flash Utility. Step one is saving the origonal Bios I named it "515f1p55.bin" so I could move onto the next step and hit no for no backup. Step two looks exactly like step one except you specify the file your using to replace the origonal. Type "515f1p55.bin" hit enter ad it will program the flash memory. Make sure you remove the CD or floppy before rebooting. You can now install Windows Vista on your 945P7AA-8KS2.

Pros: very adaptive board. great for people who are switching from P-ata to sata. 3 IDE/P-ATA slots are great but that fact that it has 4 sata ports too makes it even better. BIOs have some very cool features that drasticaly improve boot time.

Cons: cd/dvd drives that are older are very difficult to make work. must adjust over and over with the pin settings and with the bios. IDE ports are a LONG ways away from the cd-rom bays! using a ribbon cable with slots for 2 drives it only makes it to one.

Overall Review: a second PCI-E 16x would have been nice it has 2 1x's but i really dont use those much. THIS BOARD HAS NO ON BOARD VIDEO.

Pros: Booted up just fine, computer runs as great as it ever did! Comes with (rather lacking) overclocking tools, but it performs just as it should. Great price.

Cons: Again, overclocking is not the best on this board, but it was never designed to be an ASUS Striker, now was it? :-)

Overall Review: I needed a cheap mobo fast, and this is the one I chose. I'm very happy with my choice. Runs my 3.0 Ghz Pentium D just fine.

Pros: Good price. Had an old 3.2 cpu that I needed a decent motherboard for.

Cons: EIDE/SATA ports can be tricky to setup at first. Had a harddrive (using sata3.0 port), and two other devices using the EIDE ports. It took a while after trying different settings in the bios in order to get all devices to show up.

Overall Review: Patience, but it does work.

Pros: I just upgraded from a Dell, and i couldnt take it anymore. Bought the new mobo, case, power supply, and memory. Worth every dime i spent. Was able to re-use the hard drive without reformatting, and it was easy to fit into my case. Works with almost any Apevia case, even tho they say max mobo size is 11x12, they mean 12x11.

Cons: Flimsy IO plate.

Overall Review: Comes with everything you need, and the software was amazing. Had intgernet and oc'ing done in 5 minutes :)

Pros: Inexpensive board that is well made and well documented. I have not built a system if several years and this MOBO was a dream to to with. Easy to install. Comes with 2 SATA Cables, 2 Ultra PATA Cables and the poor little floppy cable. 2 SATA PS adapters are also included. It is built to over-clock, not something I am inclined to do. It will almost do it for you.

Cons: Nothing important. The I/O shield is flimsy, no biggie. There is only 1 system cooling fan connector, again no biggie. The case I purchased comes with a 120mm fan. Rosewill R6AR6-SL 0.8mm SECC 120mm Fan ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, for the money is a great case.

Overall Review: Numerous of the reviews I read for the components I purchased for a new system had big detractors. DOAs are a fact of life. I paid less than $xxx delivered cost for this MOBO, the case above, a 250 SATA2 drive, DVD+-RW with lightscribe, 2GB RAM, Keyboard and mouse, 380W plus80 PS, Ge Force 7300 gs 2256MB Video card PCI ex-16, Intel Pentium D 930 Presler 3.0GHz LGA 775 95W Dual-Core, And CPU fan. I am guessing I could have done better but I am thrilled with this system. If you want all the bells and whistles, this i not for you. If you want a solid inexpensive board WITHOUT video this is great. My first critera was no onboard video. this fit the bill. With the case and CPU fan internal temp is <30c the CPU hovers around 30-35c.

Pros: Booted up perfectly and smooth. Easy to install my hard drives and cpu. Runs exellent couldnt ask for a better budget mobo. I hooked it up with Dual Channel DDR2 RAM 1G. Ran Bioshock on medium same with UT3, did a little overclocking. I am very impressed with this motherboard. Runs WoW exellent.Thorium Brotherhood. Name: Szethican. I bought the SAPPHIRE 100122L Radeon X700 256MB 64-bit DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card and im lovin life!

Overall Review: No Dual-Core

Pros: I installed XP Pro in like 30 minutes, this is a very good board. I put a 3.4 Intel processor in it. This motherboard plays Guitar Hero with out a glitch!! Very happy with this board!!Specs are 3.4 processor, 7900 Geforce GT OC, 4 GB RAM ,this is a very fast system.

Cons: NONE AT ALL
