So, I've looked through all the questions and answers and I'm taking it that this isn't a very good Graphics Card for gaming? Is this true or should I just keep looking? I mainly play Minecraft and Garry's Mod but I'm looking to play more kinds of games, any input would be great, thanks in advance!

Hey! Good question, for something like Gary's mod or mine craft you may want a stronger card to run those games. I'd recommend something in the range of $100 - $150 I bought this card for a simple workstation and it's fine for that, however with gaming you might want something a little more powerful to give you those awesome graphics you're seeking!

Its compatible with PCIe 2.0 x 16?

It should be fine. Nothing really changed from 2.0 to 2.1.

Will this fit into an emachine slim computer?

I had the same situation - it will fit ok, but unless your power supply is more than the stock 220 watt it may not work - mine did not work. I ended up not using it after I bought it. The power usage rating on this one is real low, but I could never get the computer to recognize it. Hope that helps.

Question 4

I hope to use this card for a dual-display setup with monitors I already own. The monitors only have a D-Sub input. Does this card come with a DVI to D-Sub adapter or will I have to buy one separately?

The answer is a bit more complicated. No, it doesn't come with an adaptor. The second part of the answer is actually a question. Does the DVI port support analog video. Some DVI ports are strictly digital (DVD-D) and an analog monitor won't work on one even with an adaptor. I don't know the answer to the second question and the computer that I put the card into died (Of no fault of the card) so I can't try it. If I get it working again, I will give it a go and get back to you.

Does the card support dual monitor output over the VGA and DVI?

Yes it does. The primary output is the DVI and the secondary is the VGA. We use these cards all the time for dual monitor output and if needed they come with the low profile brackets too.

No, this card is designed to run within it's specifications without needing a fan. As long as you are not overclocking this card, you should be fine. Since it does not need a fan, it is a good option for quiet or home-theater PC's where noise can be irritating.

It doesn't run every game in the world at high settings but gets the job done for everyday use, home theater use, and light gaming.

First off the unit must support full size expansion cards though it
does have the capability of a half card slot as well. The reason for full size slots it also has probably a 250 watt PS. This is the cheapest upgrades but you must change out to at least a 350 watt power supply I used a 350 watt enhanced unit works quite well in an older dell. The software also has an auto overclock for best performance and tests the processor. Not necessarily a gamer but I assure you enhanced Skyrim, Oblivion, Dead Space, Mass Effect 3, and a few others for PC works real well no problems. I've been running it for quite a while. You need to pay attention to some setups require you to select external video to work. Check the manufacturer it provides all the info you need. Also if your motherboard video no longer works, could there also be problems elsewhere on the motherboard? The card may not work if the MB is damaged.

Will someone please tell me if this card will work in an old Dell Dimension 2400 Desktop ? I am confused about it

This Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 1GB PCI Express card is not compatable for the motherboard in the Dell Dimension 2400 Desk computer. The motherboard in the Dell Dimension 2400 does not have the required PCI Express slot. It only has PCI slots on the board. You will need a PCI video card for this computer.

I would like to put this in my gateway dx4370

I have a 300watt power supply.
I need pci express 2.0.  x16 
I want to use three monitors.
I need it to be UEFI I am told for win 8.1

I do light graphic work but mostly spreadsheets, word docs and email/web.

Can I use this card in my system?

I put it in my wife's computer (it has a 300w PSU as well) and it works great, no problems.  It's not going to set the world on fire with power but when you are limited to a smaller PSU this is probably your best option.  The games that we do play (newer MMOs) don't really lag unless we hit some crazy boss fights or activity.  Otherwise we've been really happy with this card and for the price I believe it's the best bang for your buck with a small power supply.

Hi Paul,
Yes, it will work.  It looks like from Gateway's website your computer has a PCI Express x16 slot on the motherboard.  Since this is a PCI Express x16 card then it will fit into that slot.

Newegg doesn't allow website links in their reviews, but if you want to verify this for yourself just google "Gateway DX4710-UB002A" and click on the first link (from Gateway Support) and then click on "Specifications".  If you scroll down to the "Add-in Card Slots" section you will see this:
