Does this card have the same metal back plate as the ASUS 670 with the lower boost clock?

Yes, It has a full metal backplate. I removed it when I installed a waterblock backplate.

I got this card on B-Friday, it looked like a great deal, it runs at idle around 57C - 60C degrees in a pretty well ventilated case and under load at 83C. It doesn't look right for me. What do you think guys, should RMA for a replacement. Can anyone care to post their temps ? (when 100% under load sometimes it crashes)

Yes sir, I would have it replaced. The card that I have at work idles at around 35°C and rarely gets near 50°C. Of course, I don't play graphics intensive games like I do at home. I can't tell you the temperature of that one, but I replaced the very same card twice and am getting ready to return it again on a video cut out issue. I'm afraid that the card is plagued by all sorts of manufacturer problems. I would get a different card if at all possible.

On the bright side, Newegg is extremely fair and accommodating and will nearly bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. Get the RMA and don't worry about it.

Question 4

I'm having trouble having a third monitor recognized.  I have 3 different monitors.  I have tried different combinations of all the 4 options, 2 DVI, HDMI and display port with a DVI adaptor.  I can get any two working with any combination of two ports but I can't get a third monitor recognized.

Where is the best place to go for assistance?

Since it is an ASUS card, www dot asus dot com/us/support/ would be the first place to check, and potentially call in rather than email or forum support.  The only computer I use that has 3 monitors is one that has 2 cheap video cards and is only used for office work.

The real question is where in the driver/software configuration for said card and OS display settings need to be set such that it does not clone 2 of the displays.  That I cannot answer unfortunately.

Could I run three monitors with this card?

Yes! I do it all the time. You can do it with either 2 DVI and one HDMI. Or through display port. So just make sure your monitors have the right connections and cables.

What are the differences between this card and the non OG version? the power supply is only 300w its too small for this card , i don't think this computer is suitable to play hd games. Personally and Technically, any Kepler based GPU set will not be optimal for that build. The reason being is that the build already has an APU which is AMD's new integrated and dedicated GPU built into the CPU itself therefore defeating the purpose of buying a separate graphics card itself. The 300w PSU within this system is only optimal for the condition the pc is as itself. The Kepler based GTX 670 calls for a minimum of 500w in order to run at base efficiency. All in all, I highly advise to not purchase this card and just buy the system as is.

Question 8

MY card is not working. It turns on with the fan and the power lights but it cannot be found by my motherboard and I can't install drivers to it. Can I get some help?

Make sure it's fully/correctly inserted in PCIe slot.  Make sure that you have the power connections connected to your power supply.  Make sure your power supply has enough capacity to handle the extra load.  A 450W+ supply with most of the juice on the 12V rail should be sufficient. (given an otherwise average desktop with a ~100W CPU and a few drives)

If everything else is good, you may be looking at a bad card and have RMA.

Newegg does a great job with their pricing and service. Don't stop because of a single card. I went through three of them before I realized that the card is plagued with problems. That is probably why they discontinued it.
