Question 2

Is this a good card for games like WoT, Warthunder, Minecraft with shaders etc. Should I get above 50FPS on at least high settings?

It is working great for us. I bought it for my teen's gaming computer and he is not having any problem. He plays League of Legends maxed out and has incredible frame-rate (way over 50...around 100). Minecraft should be no problem for you. I can't speak for the other games you mentioned.

We had problems with a Radeon 7770 (probably a bad card - lots of black screen of death issues when running high) so I decided to bump it up to the R7-260x (which replaced the 7790 card by the way). Zero issues in four weeks.

Make sure you download latest drivers from AMD site for best results. Hope this helps!

What size power supply should I get with this?

I used this to replace the card in a dell desktop. I still use the original 430 watt powe supply. So far I have had no issues, but am riding a fine line. Anything over 500 watt should be fine.

Question 4

Does this card need a six pin power connector to work or it can run without the connector?

It has a six pin plug so I plug it. I never thought of not giving it the power it needs. I t has problems though. I see artifacts in 2d aka Mozilla, IE and similar. Will be calling Asus support soon. Be careful.

Can i run this card with a 480W PSU?

Negative on the 480W PSU, per specs on box. Minimum recommended says 500W. I run mine on a 600W and it is P-E-R-F-E-C-T !!!!! The best I have run for a mid grade GPU. With one hiccup . . . Says will run on WinXP, but for gaming, drivers are far from perfect. Runs pretty well on Win7. Since this is a pretty new GPU, Im sure they will be working out the bugs on the drivers. I knew this ahead and took the chance and I am happy with it. Keep in mind all support for XP will be gone in April 2014. Extremely cool running card, but make sure it stays cool. You can take a chance on the 480W, but I wouldnt. Good luck.

Both 5 or 6 pin will work.  I can only use 5 pin and it works just fine for me.

Hey guys and gals, so I was wondering if the drivers have been fixed/updated as of March 2014. According to reviews it's an awesome card but the drivers are not. Some of those reviews are old though. So have they fixed it yet?

Ryan,
The drivers provided by Asus failed to install under Windows 7 on my first install attempt. In fact, the O/S failed to load after everything was working just fine and then updated the drivers for the video card.

I then went to AMD's website and pulled the latest drivers and even though I have an onboard Core i5 video, the install went smoothly and was able to see both graphics adapters in Device Manager.

I just completed the install about a week ago. As further research, I'd head over to Tom's Hardware forums and check the latest posts. Same for Overclockers dot com. The R7 260X is a great performance to price point card in the segment and I'm glad I was able to find a couple at the time as they had just come out.

What is the power requirement for this card. I am trying out a new build layout. How much wattage do I need as far as PSU's are concerned ?

This GPU unit should have 140 watts available. This means add 140 watts to the power total of the package you are assembling. Keep in mind 3 1/2" hard drives average 25 watts each. CD/DVD drives average 30 watts each. High end chip sets average 40 watts along with 10 watts of miscellaneous items on the mother board. Then of course 75 to 150 watts for the CPU you choose. Case fans and other items of the case typically need 20 watts and up to 15 watts of usb items (ie keyboard mouse camera joy sticks usb hubs and so on. The easiest way to solve the equation is to just purchase a 650 watt or larger supply. I have settled on 700 watt class supplies for stability.

I wanna buy this GPU, but I'm wondering if someone of you faced some overheating, BSOD, drivers or any kind of problems ??

I experienced overheating issues when I first hooked it up in my PC. It would eventually auto-close the game I was playing with an error message about ten minutes in. You just have to manually adjust the fan speed and it runs perfectly. Planning on ordering another soon.

Does this come with a Molex to 6-pin adapter? Or does it need anything else? Also, if not, would you reccomend a cheap one?

No it doesn't come with the Molex to 6-pin adapter. It come with and adapter for VGA usage. I really don't use the molex to 6-pin connectors, but you can look for them on forums, that will be helpful.
