When they say customize the logo for a unique look, what do they mean? Take the card apart and put something in place of the logo?

Accepted Answer

No. The ASUS logo, on the fourth thumbnail, lights up. You can change the color and how it reacts (steady on, blinking, etc...) through a provided app on the installation DVD.

Why would anyone pay more money for a card with a plastic housing when you can get a founders edition for less money?

1. Its asus and I have had good experiences with their products.
2. FE card cooling systems are not as good as the third party cards. It has been admitted.
3. the type of fan this card uses not only cools the gpu more efficiently it extends the life of the card.

why can i only buy one ? and will i be able to buy a second one later or is it always 1 per household ?

Because ALL Nvidia cards have been in extreme short supply since right after Christmas due to the Nvidia having TSMC switch over to building Volta GPUs "around the end of the year" and then having an unexpectedly good Christmas sales season and NOT enough stock on hand to carry them through to Volta release.

This card can not be watercooled correct?

Not in its stock configuration, no. You'ld have to pull off the stock cover, heatsink, and fan and replace them with you own waterblock setup in order to water cool this card.

If you were to pair this with a monitor, what would you choose?

I went with an asus rog gaming monitor 24", but I should of gone with any oled tv.  Monitor latency to me isn't really an issue as the games I play aren't fast paced shooters and such, but true deep colors are.  Side note I mostly use my Vive on this rig and play mostly rpgs.

I have an asrock h97m pro4 is this gpu compatible with my motherboard?

As long as your mother board has a pcieslot it's compatible, however, if it's not a pcie 3.0 slot you won't be getting the most out of the video card. I hope this helps

The description lists it coming with a 1 x DP-DVI Dongle. Mine didn't come with one, nor any place within the packaging that one might be placed. Is it supposed to come with one, or is Newegg's description mistaken?

I don't believe it was listed in the package.  Mine did not include on either.

Does this card have a custom PCB layout or the same as the FE?

This is a custom PCB. I took the entire housing off of it to verify. If I could include links in this comment I'd show you my board and the FE board. The differences are minor but enough that a FE water block won't work for this card. Assuming you're asking because you want to water cool, I ended up water cooling it with a Kraken G10, Kraken x61 Liquid Cooler, and about 20 heat sinks I put over all the components the stock housing had thermal tape applied to. It's worked well so far, with temps not exceeding 45 degrees under extreme load and overclocked to 2.1GHz.
