Is this specifically for a MSI motherboard?

No the card fits in any PCI Express slot.  I put one in my 2nd Gen i5 Dell and it is running fine! I did have to add a 6pin adapter power converter.

Question 2

Can you hook up two monitors with this graphics card?

Yes you can, you just need to be able to plug each through a different monitor output port.

Is there a way to make this a single-slot card?

You can cut the tab off for the second slot and then it will fit in a case that only takes a single slot.  The width of the card though will still take up two slots so you'll have to make sure you have the room inside your case to do this.

Will a 400 PSU work with this card?

I am running it in a older 2nd gen Dell with a 350 watt PW and have not had a problem in 2 months. I did have to buy a sata power to pci-e power adapter because my PW did not have a pci-e 6 pin power cable in the Power Suppy.  A GTX 750 ti would also work and it does not have to use a pci-e power socket and is rated for a 350w PW.  If you use Windows 10 the boost from DirectX 12 in the GTX 950 is nice and will get better in time.

Is this nvidia 3d vision ready?

No. I believe the 970 is the lowest model that supports 3d. However, hive did say it was capable but not recommended.

Question 6

There haven't been any reviews regarding running two of this card in SLI. Any input on that? The specs say it's not VR capable, but would 2 of these in SLI be enough for VR or is there some other reason why it can't do it?

Could someone drive a TV being used as a monitor at 4K@60 using the HDMI 2.0 port (not for gaming or video - just work stuff) and run two 1080P monitors off the DP and DVI at the same time? I know it will support 3 monitors at once but will it do 3 when one is 4K?

I can let you know tomorrow.  I have 3 4k monitors and 2 1080p monitors on my desk at work.  I will test it out for you

Does this card draw 90 Watts all the time or is that the maximum current draw?
I'm hoping it uses a lot less power when the screen is in sleep mode...

It will only draw 90 watts during peak video demand. It will draw a very small amount during sleep mode.

Aside from price and availability, what is supposed to make this better than the previous version (GTX 950 2GD5 OC)?

I thought this new 950 OCV1 was supposed to be a PCIe only 75 watt max. The specs are showing 90w and 6 pin. Likely  was cut and paste from the old description. I emailed MSI asking about the 75watt 950 and they gave me a link to this page. Was going to buy it and I saw the wrong specs listed. I emailed  Newegg 2 days ago about it to verify the description, just have to wait and see.
