I need to know if this gpu can run dayz standalone(30$ on steam) on high to ultra settings?. Thanks

This card should have no problem playing battlefield 4 on high ultra, but dayZ I don't know, I would assume if it can run Bf4 on high ultra that it can run dayZ on high ultra also.

At 230$ (220$+ 8 shipping) you might want to consider a regular R9 270, since with software (MSI after-burner) a moderate overclock will make a 270 run pretty much the same as a 270x.

I have a 270 and a 270x and a 280x, I don't see any difference between the 270 and 270x in terms of performance....maybe 1 or 2 fps difference, the 280x is insane but runs very hot in comparison.

Facts about this powercolor 270x
1) The ram has no cooling on it, the heatsink only covers the GPU Core.
2) The backplate does not make any physical contact with the cards pcb or chips there-on, it is simply for display purposes only / preventing cards from bumping into eachother.
3) One of these cards stand alone runs very good temperatures, 70c at load in a 72F room with an open case... even better temps with a good case.
4) Two of these in Xfire run around 76f full load.
5) For Scrypt mining this card will run at around 430kh/s to 480kh/s on higher intensity, (say over 18 , it will get a few hardware errors sometimes depending on each individual card).
6) The fans are effective and quiet.
7) The build quality is OK, the PCB is good quality, the cooler "works" but its nothing to be amazed at, the paint-job on the shroud makes the card look a little cheap, but unless you sit around staring at your video card all day you wont notice or care.

I have about 10 of these Powercolors that I have used in computer builds, none of them have had any real problems, if you are using this card for casual gaming, it should more than meet your expectations.

I have about 5 of these scrypt mining 24/7 around the clock for about a month now, in a temperature controlled room(never reach above 74c per card), and they are workhorses, really this brand has surprised me.

You more than likely will have to turn off your onboard video and a normal mid tower size case. I'am using a Cooler Master 912 case and it has good room for the video card.

There may be some terminology confusion here but I'll answer as best I can. Yes, it takes 2 6 pin pci-e plugs, but does not require that you have 2 12 volt rails. hope this helps.

I bought a Phenom XII pc a couple years ago and it came with a 700W power supply and the 6770 graphics card. The 270x states it needs 500W minimum but various web sites show it only uses roughly 180W. Is my power supply capable of handling this new card?

Yes, when they say 500W they mean the amount of power that will be used by whole PC that is likely to use this card.  700W should be more than enough.  I've got a 500W in mine and it runs fine.

How do you use the 3d capability on this card?  Do you need to purchase 3d glasses?  If so what kind?

Your monitor needs to support 3-D video. Then get glasses, any type will work. If your monitor doesn't suport 3-D, then it will show up as 2 separate images in two different color bands.

I have a dual monitor setup with this exact card, and have no problems. Of course trying to run 2 graphics intensive programs at the same time on each monitor will affect it's performance, but with basic stuff, this card handles it just fine.

Sorry we have had no issues with the drivers. On Passmark testing the video card runs at 5000.

I would have to change the power supply as well, I'm sure. I'm delving in video editing and 3D graphics as well, not just gaming, How much ram you think it would be necessary to use the R9 280 and which power supply you recommend for the Gateway dx4860.

I am looking at the 2 DVI slots on the back, what is the difference between the to?

I am trying to use this card for a duel monitor hookup but a standerd DVI port cord will not with with the port to the right.

One port is dvi i and another is dvi d

Dvi I support s digital and analog so it can be covered to use vga cable by adding vga to dvi adapter

The dvd d is only digital so it won't take vga adapters yet even that posts are different you suld be able to plug dvi d cables to both connectors
