Will this work with a VGA cable?

This card doesn't have a port for an ordinary VGA cable.  You'll need a DVI adapter (which plugs into your VGA pins) in order to use VGA cables with this video card, or you'll need to get an HDMI-to-VGA converter.

Is this pretty the same gpu model but with different and I suppose less efficient cooling?And will the company accept rebates?Because in the reviews in seemed as if the company was a bit stingy about accepting rebates because If not I'll just go with the msi model since it has more efficient cooling and less issues.

I'm curious as to why you think this model would have less efficient cooling. I know i am one person, but i can tell you i have not had any issues with this card, be it cooling, noise level or stability(running Windows10). But I'm also playing games that are not taxing on the gpu, like WoW, starcraft, unreal tournament. As far as rebates are concerned, i didn't fill out the forms so i can't give info on that. I could be wrong, but if you're hearing coil whine im guessing its due to the card being pushed harder then it should, which produces more heat from the circuitry and therefore fans spinning faster. Msi makes a great card, but you're paying extra for the gaming name, and a 20mhz difference. Whatever decision you make, you can't go wrong with either of them. Have you guys had any issues with coil whine with this GPU?  Keep in mind coil whine is different from fan noise.  Thanks!

Hello Andrew,
    Personally I have not experienced any coil whine with this gpu, nor do I think I will. The games I am playing now are not taxing to the gpu. I could be wrong, but I thought coil whine happens when you are pushing the card too hard, from overclocking or increasing voltage.

would this card be good for say nfs 2016 and fallout 4 i dont need them maxed?

I know it works for Fallout4...but there are some driver issues at times.  Perhaps they're resolved now.  Also, in super chaotic scenes there were parts you could tell it was struggling to keep up.  I had the detail pretty much maxed though at 1920x1080

No VGA adapter.  Why would you want VGA on a graphic card with this high of a resolution.  If you are running a lower resolution monitor you could use a less powerful video card dialed up rather than dialing this down.  Unless you are next upgrading monitors

That would be a resounding yes, as far as the hardware goes, however, I would not suggest running dual 4K at all. This card probably could handle 2 1080p resolution monitors at 40-70fps but you may get a bit of fps drop.

I'm pretty new to PC building/modding, a friend of mine generously gave me his old rig to play around with and I'm looking to get a new graphics card. The motherboard I have now is an MSI 990fxa-gd65. I now know that pcie 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0, so I guess my question is would there be any software compatibility issues? The motherboard is really good, but it's also starting to get outdated and not sure if a card of this magnitude is supported on my mobo or even how I would find that out. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

PCIe 3.0 has a ~1% increase over 2.0 in terms of GPUs, now if you were to want to do multi gpu, I would go with a 3.0 board with dual 16x or at least dual 8x lanes, but if you're looking at this card, that typically means you aren't going for a multi gpu set up. The card will work just fine with 2.0+

I want to build my own video editing machine and want to know if this would be a proper Video Card for that? I am intending in using Adobe Creative cloud for my editing. 
Also, I am new to this whole building my machine, and am wondering if I also need a separated Graphics Card?

I'm eyeing this, too. I'm pretty sure that you do need an actual video card.  I doubt that APU is up to that level yet. Really, if you're serious about video editing, I'd go with an AM3+ board, or a better Intel board. With AM3+, you'll have top-of-the line AMD options concerning their procs--at this time. APU is intended merely for consumer media viewing--and, value laptops.

A 256-bit bus interface is the first level of "good" in performance video cards--ever since the AGP years. You likely do need a 256-bit bus card, or better (this qualifies). You don't need Phys-X (nVidia gaming) for editing (AVCHD, .mp4--right?): You need crunch.

A few "legacy" VPU cards might prove cheaper at 256-bit/PCI-E.  This chipset isn't legacy--it isn't top-of-the-line either, though. (It's a "compromise chipset"--it never was top-drawer AMD--it's likely a very fine compromise, nonetheless.)

I'd pull the trigger--given that you can't spend even more.  (I may myself--I'll parse endlessly beforehand, though--endlessly never making a decision!) You can't go wrong with an even better video card, though. Have you considered workstation cards?

Power and cooling issues do intrude, unfortunately. You'll likely lose an empty slot. Get a decent power supply--if that isn't set yet. I intend to invoke a Kingwin 700W/dual-rail 12V, 28A/ rail.  Make certain that you have the correct type of PCI-E connectors or adapters needed. Note the type of PCI-E power supply ports in the card specs here (6-pin vs. 8-pin). You don't want to get your card home and then note that you can't connect: Basically then you must order adapters--waiting again. (Video cards at this better level of performance need their own dedicated power from the power supply--PCI-E connections serve that function.)

Can this card run the Witcher 3, on ultra?

I just tried it... it looks really good. I ran around the big city, and was... really impressed, to be honest. I was expecting more of a performance hit. Not sure on the exact FPS, but likely over 30.

So maybe it's time I got back into the game. ^_^ So glad your question popped up.

Can I run this gpu alongside a different brand video card? Or can I run it alongside an R7 370?

as long as its both a 380 or i believe even 380x (is there an x) would work together. if it varies in memory size, i believe it takes the smaller of the sizes though
