I have a dell T5500 with Xeon quad core using two 27 inch monitors.  would this card or the Nvidia quadro M4000 be the one for hd editing?

Read about difference in video cards used for 3d modelling and those used for animation and gaming. Gaming / animation cards have different drivers than 3d modelling cards. They enhance separate aspects of graphics. All quadro cards are geared to 3d modeling, arch + engineering stuff. For film, animation look at pcparticker, search for work stations geared for animation work. You will find complete builds using video cards suitable for that specific use. It is too bad there are few cards that seem to create max efficiency in both areas. May come up in the future.

What size power supply do you need for this card?

The operational power requirement of the card is 108 Watts. The power requirement of the computer depends upon what other hardware you have in your computer. Large amount of memory, a large number of physical drives, high power CPU will all affect it.  I am using it with a 1200W power supply.  There are online calculators that will help you determine the minimum power required.  You will usually want a power supply to provide more than that for future expansion.  Hope this helps.

Depends what other hardware you have in your computer.  I usually go with minimum of 400W with just one card.  If you add another video card then you need to go higher to at least 500W.

I only build pc's so I'm really not sure. I do know that mac's are limited in hardware upgrades. I would call an Apple store or a certified mac repair store. It's a great card! Hope this helps.

I have a Dell XPS 8300 with a 460 watt psu. I have heard that I will need to upgrade the psu to run this card. Is that true?

I don't know if you HAVE to upgrade your PSU, but I would recommend it. This GPU does use a lot of power. If you have several hard drives, fans, etc, I would get a larger PSU. I have 600w PSUs in my machine. 460w may be enough depending on what else is in your machine.

Hello,
I have an old motherboard, Tyan Tempest i5000xt, would this card work with my motherboard? I realize I am using PCI-E 16 1.0 and won't get the full speed out of this card but will it work. I am currently using a Quardo FX4600 and looking to upgrade this old machine.

Theoretically you it should work.  If the mobo is only PCIe 1.0 the card will simply train to PCIe1.0 to match.  You need to be able to support 110W for the card though.

I look for a dual link graphics card; specifically having medical diagnosis or superior to the boat card MXRT 5550.
It is the top of the boat QuadroK4200?
That Nvidia can you recommend it supeior MXRT or equal to 5550?

No. The K6000 is the top of the NVIDIA line for graphics cards. The K5200 sits in between the 4200 and the 6000.

I'm trying to determine if this card is compatible with a Dell PowerEdge T620 (government lab, adding a GPGPU card after the fact).  Any thoughts?

If your workstation possesses a PCIe x16 slot then it should work for you. Looking at the specific model of workstation you have, it looks like there are 4 PCIe slots. PCIe is reverse compatible -- if the slots are PCIe 3, then a PCIe 2 card will work. The card also supports 3 concurrent displays.
