I am torn between this card and EVGA's GTX 980 Superclocked 4GB 256-Bit. I'm planning a new build for sims like Falcon BMS, the DCS series, Arma 3, X Plane, etc. The specs for this card: Core Clock: 876MHz Boost Clock: 928MHz CUDA Cores: 2880 vs specs for the 980: Core Clock: 1266 MHz Boost Clock: 1367 MHz CUDA Cores: 2048 With all these in mind, will the performance difference in those sims be of any significance? I really don't know how to compare vga stats beyond "oh, those number are bigger, thus better performance." But I'm also thinking that because the 780 has a bigger throughput(?) at 384-bits, it will perform better than the 980. Again, is the difference in stats of any significance?

performance will be better for the 980 as this 780 kingpin still has the reference clocks, although this is a kingpin card and if you plan on overclocking the kingpin has more robust power delivery system will match if not outperform. even then the difference overall between the two will be marginal and once you get overclocking will really come down to the silicon lottery overclocking

On the EVGA site it specifies a much higher clock speed for this card whereas for some reason this site gives the deafult clock speed for the referance model, is this just an error in the advert or is this card different?

I worried about this too, the 780ti Kingpin on EVGA's site is P4-3888 while this is P4-3887 I think this might be the reason of the different core frequency.
