It depends on the game you're trying to play.  This card is good, but it's not suited to the more demanding video games such as Grand Theft Auto V, but there are a myriad of current and older games that this card will handle just fine.  Look at the system requirements for the games you play (or plan to play).  Use an online tool (such as gpu boss) to compare this card to whatever they recommend as the minimum.  Fallout 4 would probably be too much for this card, but Call of Duty: Black Ops III would play just fine.  Technically speaking, you probably *could* play any game on the market today (GTA V lists the NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT as the minimum video card, which is substantially inferior to this card), but the frame rates and/or resolution are going to suffer.

Is a 300 watt power supply sufficient for this card?

Yes, unless you are running a ton of fans (6-8) or a high power consuming processor 140w or more. If you have a standard PC build, it will work just fine.

Wanting to get this to replace my geforce gtx 550ti. is that a good replacement or is this not really made for gaming?

I used this card to replace my HP Pavilion P7 factory card AMD Raedeon HD 6530D, and it's doing great with the games I'm currently playing - Marvel Heroes and Minecraft.

I should say that I'm not using maximum settings in either game because I still get some latency. However, I don't know if this is because of my computer's processing power or the video card.

I bought the card on a recommendation from a hardcore gaming friend, and he said the card should run great with the maximum settings.

Will this work in a HP 6005 Pro, PCIe x16?  BIOs settings are (8 lane + display port) or (16 lane).

The card recommends a power supply of 300w output capability (though it will typically work with 250w), be sure to check your power supply's specification label to be sure that it has the power. It also requires an adjacent PCI slot to be set up for "low profile use (generally found in slim computers). The graphics" card is a low profile compatible, so whether you have the mid, or slim tower, it will fit. I have tested it in a Dell Inspiron 546s, with a 250w power supply, and it works fine. So long as you have the power for it, I'm sure it will work in your system.

This card will support three monitors, but only to a limited extent.  Look at the maximum resolution to get an idea of the cards limitations.  You're not going to be able to run 3 widescreen monitors unless they have stupidly low resolution.  You can probably run dual widescreen monitors at 1080, or two traditional monitors and a third widescreen.  Anything else will be beyond the maximum resolution of the card.

What kind of power supply is compatible with this? I was browsing through newegg and almost all power supplies didn't have pci express support. One did, and it gave PCI-Express Connector: 1 x 6-Pin. I was proficient in computer a looong time ago, but I don't know what that means. I really would like to buy this card.

Right now I have a 250w power supply, will that suffice, I am looking to upgrade my power supply in the future, and would like to know what would be optimal for this card. Thanks!

This card does not require extra power directly from the power supply. A 250w P.S.U should run it just fine (unless you have a ton of fans or other devices drawing power), but the card recommends that you use a 300w P.S.U.

Would this work with Optiplex 790 DT?

Hi. I think it will work as long you put in the correct slot for card type. That is a Dell if I am correct an older model but it is okay computer.  I installed in an Asus P6 board which requires older card but it works good. That's why I chose this card not many available of good quality and price for older models.   Not any problems for a few years now.

i bought this to watch 4k video from Netflix to 4k movie trailers and such you can find.  i have the pc hooked up to my 4k UHD 55" tv.  4k video is maxing out my cpu usage and crashes the system. i thought the video card would do most of the heavy lifting yet cpu seems to be doing most of the work. Am i missing a setting? i have a dell optiplex 755 running windows 7.

Ok  I have done some research  on the type of pc you said your running. I would look into finding out  if the cpu is overheating. Yes the video card should be helping with the sytem to preform better however  the specs I seen said you only have 1 gig of system ram.  windows 7 requires 2 gigs of ram for a 64 bit OS and only 1 gig for 32 bit OS. are you for sure your on windows 64 bit?  If you disconnect the 4k tv from the pc  will the pc operate on its own with no problem's? If the pc preforms well without the tv I would have the tv checked to make sure its not malfunctioning How is it attached to the pc, ie  hdmi or dvi connector? have you checked the ends of the cable to see if they are frayed or maybe cracked or anything? When that happens have you felt the connecting cable to see if its hot to the touch? That video card operates at 64 bit, have you checked to see maybe to run 4k you need a 128 bit card not a 64 bit. I don't have a 4k I have mine running on an 8 core amd  connected to a 24 inch 1080p via hdmi and it runs so smooth. Im sorry to throw all this at you but not being there to see it and check things myself , im just trying to open new avenues for you to check out. Hope it doesn't confuse you to much and I hope it helps you get your problem squared away. You might also try talking to the geeks on newegg. they might know something else to look into.
