If you buy this device buy as short a USB A-B extension cable as you can get. The unit is kinda fragile and the COAX doesnt bend very well causing my USB plug to bend. Just need something like a short extension cable that flexes easily to take stress off USB plug. Even bent mine still functions well.

Also put in a area with good ventilation, mine gets kinda hot.

With this device, laptop (mine)and antenna that comes with it, will I be able to watch analog tv without any other hook ups for video?

Since June 13, 2009, full-power television stations nationwide in the USA have been required to broadcast exclusively in a digital format; over-the-air analog television is a thing of the past. However, using the supplied antenna you should be able to pick up the strongest digital stations in your neighborhood. More distant, or weaker, digital stations would require an attic or roof-mounted digital antenna.

How does the scheduling feature work? Can I record a full season in mp4 or mpeg 2 format? Thank you!

Scheduling isn't good on this, there is an online scheduling app that's on the installation cd, but I don't think it's supported or online anymore. I searched the web and everybody seems to have the same problem with the scheduler that came with it. But it does seem to work ok with the scheduler in windows media center, if you have windows 7.

Question 5

Just to make sure does this work with a cable package? It looks like I could plug in my coax signal from my cable provider but it seems like this is for antennas? Any help here?

It will work with cable TV if it is un-encrypted cable.   Many cable providers are going to a set top box at every TV, which is used to decrypt the encrypted digital signal.   Basically, if you can plug the cable straight from the wall to the TV and get your channels, you could do the same with this.  If you have to have a cable box to get your signal, you would have to hook the output of the cable box to this for it to work, and control the channel changing with the cable box instead of the computer.

Does this work with a Apple? Ie can I plug it into the back of a Mac Mini so that TV and OSX are all on the same screen?

Can't say for I do not own a Mac. I did end up taking it off due to the interference with my computer sound. Ordered a different tuner different mfr.

will this work for Vizio 4k smart tv that does not have the coax tv antenna input?

I don't think this device is designed for connecting to a TV, even a smart one.  It is meant for a PC or laptop.
