Is it supported by OS Windows 7?

Absolutely! I installed the drivers from the included disc and W7 Media Center detected it right away. I was up & running in no time.

It works fabulously. This is my 2nd tuner (first is a Pinnacle HD PCTV card) so now I can record 2 shows at the same time. For what I paid for the pinnacle card I could have bought 3 of these instead.

I would not hesitate to buy another one.

Pros: Comparatively short tuning time.
Great signal recovery.
Comes with dinky antenna and USB extender cable.

Cons: Looks a little junky.
LED is very bright (red).
USB connector appears short.
USB connector doesn't feel tight, even in provided extender wire.
No remote control.

Question 3

We have DISH tv.  From the experience I am having with this, it doesn't work with Sat TV.  Am I right?

The only way it could work with Dish is to use the RF output from the receiver. This is the Ch 3 or 4 output that would go to a TV. The tuner in the K world stick would tune to the channel from the receiver. The stick is not able to hook directly to the satellite dish as there isn't a satellite tuner in it. It's for cable or over the air channels. Whatever the Dish receiver is watching is the only thing that could be recorded.  I'm not even sure if the Dish receiver has an RF output. It wouldn't work the way you'd want it to I imagine. You can't record one channel while watching another.

Does this have to plug into a computer or can it plug into a reciever or tv?

Since most receivers and TVs lack the ability to control devices requiring driver or app support, this will not function with those devices. This tuner is designed to plug into a computer running the Windows operating system, but clearly users have been able to use it under Linux as well. Driver support for other platforms will require 3rd party support. While you can physically plug this into any standard female type A USB connection, it doesn't have out-of-box support for TVs or receivers.

is this windows 8 or linux compatable?

There wasn't a Windows 8 driver on the website, and when I tried it with the other drivers, Windows 8 became unstable. I didn't try it with Linux. It works great with Windows 7, but don't use included software...just the driver.

Just wanted to second that, yes, this device works fine with Windows 8 x64 and Windows Media Center, out of the box.

I am looking into getting a tuner to connect to my main media server which will have two Kodi (media centers) connect to it for play back. Can it tune into more then one channel at a time?

This is a single tuner model.  There are other multi-channel tuners available.  We purchased the Kworld as a low cost introduction to watching Over The Air TV on our computers.  Later we added a multi-tuner from Silicon Dust so we could watch / record more than a single channel at a time.

is window 8 compatible? or window 7?

I have Windows 7 but it I have read where it works with 8 also. I use it with Media Center. If you plug your internet cable line into it and set it up you can receive local TV channels that are carried on the internet line. There are a lot of streaming sites that you can stream a lot more shows than are available on cable TV through the internet connection.

I just read that it won't work with Comcast basic cable, is this true?

PROS: It worked very well for me with WMC to record cable tv

CONS: well drivers are screwy and channels scanning for set up is very slow plus they are no longer any use to me because they no longer work with evil comcast

OTHER THOUGHTS: it seems Comcast is bribing FCC and the so they FCC let comcast encrypt all chanels even the basic I was paying for so the tuner stick are no longer any use to me I have 3 card pci one another make and I just order another KWorld ATSC TV Stick UB435-Q USB 2.0 Interface as a back up and comcast went and ruined everything. They are ok for now for over the air but I can't get any over the air I am too far from transmitters

This tv stick is used on your computer as a tv tuner to receive basic, over the air, high definition channels. It will not allow you to unscramble cable channels without an in-line connection from a comcast cable box. Also as of the second week in November,  comcast will scramble all channels. There's nothing you can do to stop evil comcast. My kitchen tv was getting basic cable...Comcast wants me to get another cable box just to watch basic. I connected a hi-def antenna, and I get almost every channel that comcast had on their basic cable tier. Trust me...there's a lot more channels over the air than you think. There's more tjan 50 in the Philadelphia area. I hope I answered your questions.

Has anyone tried it with Windows 10 x64 yet?  How well did it work?  Did the bundled software work?

Windows 10 does not have Media Center. Microsoft dropped support for Media Center in 2009. I believe Windows 7 is the last OS to have it. You might want to consider TiVo.
