I have a Samsung ssd 2.5 internal drive will it work in this dock?

Absolutely. ...I've had 2TB hdd's as well as SSD's and they both perform well with this.  I actually had the single version first and then upgraded to the dual configuration and I'm quite pleased with Thermaltake BlacX.

Question 2

Does this Docking Station support IDE drive transfer to Sata drives?

I cannot answer this question as I do not use any IDE transfer kits anymore. However I do not see why it wouldnt work as long as the module fits into the slots.

I see a lot of negative revues here about this product. I also see Thermaltake answering back. Has anyone who posted a bad review gotten a new unit? Has this unit worked better?

FYI
I have never had a problem with the unit, however I don't leave it running all the time. It sits next to me on my desk and when needed I just turn it on. Once a week I let it run all night for a backup.

I have also setup 2 of these at my sisters office and again NO PROBLEMS..

I use it on my Windows 7 64 pro. Can't help you with the Win 8. I have two 2 tb hd's in it, so, I can't answer you for the 4 tb.

No, it will read only Serial ATA.

Question 6

Can I use 2 2.5" HDD in a raid 0 configuration using this device? I ask because I need to recover data from my broken laptop that had a raid-0 configuration.

You can not raid the drives in this dock.  There is no esata connection, just USB 3.  The only way to hardware raid USB drives would be if the device supported that function internally in the dock controller, but it does not.  There are other multi-drive external enclosures that you can purchase that can do raid 0, 1, 5, etc.
