I don't have a Dell C521 but the dimensions of the power supply are listed on the website so I'd break out the ruler and open up the case of the C521 and measure the power supply. Compare it with the specs of the Rosewill power supply....

i have and older Compaq and i want to upgrade it, will this work?

The main motherboard connector is a 20Pin connector.  Does your old Compaq have a 20 or 24 pin connector?  If it's 20 pin then you are good to go and this power supply will work fine.

If its a 24 pin connector then the models below are several options that would be better suited for you needs.  In fact some even have the option for 20 or 24 pin.  And one is even made for a Compaq computer.

Will this power supply work with a Dell Dimension 2400 ?

Yes, sometimes Dell has a wonky "catch" mechanism on the back that is a little annoying but this PSU should still work just fine.

Just make sure that the power connectors match with what you need/are replacing.  4 pin molex/SATA 20/24 connector etc.
