I'm guessing that I still have to buy hard drives separately on this right?

This is only the enclosure.
You provide the hard drives.

For what it's worth, I'm quite happy with this enclosure. It supports RAID 5 and the speed has been plenty enough for acting as my backup storage.

Question 2

I currently have 4 HDD's between 1 and 3 TB, each one filled with movies I have converted from DVD.  I am having problems with two of the drives, and also running out of storage capacity.  I would like something that I can remove and switch out SATA type HDD's, and still hook up and access from my iMac without any additional special tools (not sure what the multiplier is).  I stream them wireless to each Apple TV also.  Will this solve my problems?  Will I need anything additional?  I am using Iomega HDDs now.  When I take off the outer case I see they are simply SATA drives that unhook.  If my thinking is correct I would like to simply plug them into this and keep on going unchanged!

Unfortunately that is not how RAID 0 works for these units.  While you can utilize the benefits of striping using this enclosure, it does require the hard drives to be formatted first.  If you have somewhere that you can move the data to prior to installing them, this is a great RAID enclosure, but for what you are describing, you will most likely run into the issue of data loss during installation.

Will this work as a NAS hooked up thru a USB3 directly to a router or does this have to be directly attached to a PC or MAC?
