Question 1

I purchased this psu in 2011 and it has worked flawlessly since I am currently thinking about motherboard/cpu/memory upgrades will this work with the new i7 cpu in 2014 or is there a new standard?

This should be fine. That's a lot of power.  Consider your graphics cards. If you are running a crossfire or sli config in addition to your new upgrades, then pay attention to how hungry those cards are.

The new mother board may require an 8 pin vs 4 pin power connection to the motherboard but that is likely the only change you will see.  (and you could be using that 8 pin on your old board already) This power supply has that 8 pin connection. I'm using it in my rig.

Question 2

Can somebody who owns this please answer if this is orange or red. Because by picture it definitely looks orange but when I look up on-line video reviews users say red and black. Maybe I need my eyes checked?

The case of this is red and black. I can see how it would look orange and was curious myself until I purchased it and it is red. Btw, this is a very solid power supply and I like mine alot.

It should be able to most powersupplys do in a mid tower and full tower just one thing if that pwspply starts making noise like it's got something in the fan turn off computer and just give a pull on all your cables should stop the noise

It states that it's only 900 watts... but there's 4 12v rails that are 40 amps each... basic math tells me this power supply is really 1900 watts...?

160amps X 12volts = 1920 watts

Its propably only what it states really. im unsure if your statement is correct because i'm only following what the box says. Those rails that give you that much are probably controlled from the PSU.

Question 5

I tried to connect XFX Pro750W to the Asus VI Formula I bought here. The 12v 8 and 4 pin connectors could not reach the sockets (esp w/ Evga 780 in path) while mounted at bottom of an Antec P280 case.  I did very rough measurement and believe XFX had about 19" cable.

Figured I'd get larger now that have to replace. Any idea if this one's cables are long enough or if not, who might have one? I like that this one is not modular, so prefer that if have choice. Prefer to get this one if reaches.

I have plenty of extra cable lengths on all my cables with this Antec.  You should be OK with this power supply.  I'll see if I can get a picture uploaded.
