Has anyone used this in a tray-less hot swap mobile rack? I'm looking to get a 5.25 optical bay mounted hot swap bay for 3.5 HDDs vs. an external Dock, but would like to have the option to fit the occasional SSD with this device. Seems like if this is the exact dimensions of a 3.5 then I should be able to slide it in to a bay like a 3.5 HDD. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

It will work perfectly for your intention. SSD's are fine due to the fact that they do not produce alot of heat. Once your SSD is installed in this, it will be like a 3.5" drive. The design does not provide a great deal of ventilation. Though it supports 15mm drives, I would never entertain the thought of using a 10-15k drive in this. Hope that helps.
