I have a Dell R300 that has 2 hotswap 3.5" drive trays. Apparently Dell has no provisions for mounting an SSD in these trays. Would I be able to mount the ICYDOCK in the tray with an SSD inside?

I'm using it in a Mac Pro with "slide in" but not hot-swap drive bays.  It screwed onto the drive sled fine and is making contact with the computer.  The plastic case feels solid but installing the SSD was unsettling.  The top slides back and then rotates up.  You slide the SSD into the interior pocket and close the top to force it forward onto the female connectors.  I tried to carefully line up the SSD connector and the Icy Dock connector and it worked.  There is no sound or feel that it has made contact, just the pressure that the lid makes as it comes down.

So far it works and should work in a hot-swap bay.
