Question 1

I have a Advent DT2410, would this fit in the spare drive bay and can I boot from it?

Absolutely!

This rack fits in either a 3.5" drive bay or a 5.25" drive bay (with the adapter that comes with it).

Attach the top tray via a SATA cable to your motherboard's 0 (zero) or 1 (one) SATA connector (choose the lowest number available). That will make the drive in the top tray your boot drive.  SSD drives work well in this situation.

If you are a tinkerer, it is easy to power down the PC, swap in a different SSD drive or a spinning 2.5" hard drive and load a totally different operating system (Ubuntu, for example).  When you are finished experimenting, reverse the process.  Your original OS will come up none the worse for wear.  And you didn't risk screwing up your main installation with a dual boot scheme.

Question 2

Can I use this to replace the 3.5" hot swap bays of a rackmount server? In my case specifically, a dell C1100?  I would like to put 8 SSDs in RAID 10.  Thanks!

Short answer: NO.  We use Dell servers at work and there is no way this would mount in that environment.  The dell server drive mounts are proprietary and require that a locking mechanism be snapped in place (not screws) and the connections in the disk mounts are for a single connection with a drive. This is a bay screw mounted rack(No way to lock them in place.  It has two separate power and SATA connectors on the back, one for each SSD drive you connect and want to hotswap out, not one connector that both SSD drives use.  The Dell ports are themselves hot swaps and only have one connection for each drive and I do not think they are the same standard SATA/power connections used in most desktops.

Question 3

What is the largest drive that will fit?  Can I use a drive that is at least 15 mm.  I would like to use it for 2T drives.

NO! The height of the device is less than 30mm so by the time you add in drive dividers etc. it is an impossibility. It is pretty much made for 9.5 mm drives. Your best bet will be two individual hot swap bays.

Does it have mounting points on the bottom?

No bottom mounting points.  This device will fits nicely in a front-facing 3.5" bay or a 5.25" bay with the optional adapter.  I have installed this device in three different types of cases and experienced no mounting problems.

Question 5

I need to contact Rosewill manufacturing about this part. Who would be the contact there? This is with regard to RoHS compliance fgor medical applications.

I love these trays.  I have 3 and they work perfectly.  Very convenient to swap drives on the fly.

I have not tried to raid them in any manner however I wouldn't hesitate to do so being mindful of the operational requirements of the raid configuration.

Question 6

Is this dock SATA II, 3Gbs or also SATA III 6Gbs?

I don't know specifically however I would think so.  The interface is the same on either SATAII/III and so long as the cable from the device to the m/b is either 3Gbs or 6Gbs respectively it should work.
I didn't see any degraded performance when using my 6Gbs drives.
