Compared to the 4 bay model that can handle a 1 TB (HDD x1). Why can't this one handle the same instead of a 750 GB (HDD x1)?

I just plugged a SpinPoint 1TB ST1000lM024 drive into the enclosure without difficulty. Each bay can handle a drive up to 9.5mm in height, which is standard for laptop 2.5" HDDs and SSDs. Unless you've got a drive (like the Velociraptor) that's taller than 9.5mm, you should have no problems. I don't own any other big 2.5" drives right now, so I can only speak directly for this particular SpinPoint model. HTH, --Ed--
