Zalman’s feather-light aluminum S Series 2.5’’ SSDs contain both SATA II and mini-USB 2.0 interfaces, providing higher convenience and flexibility as either a portable storage device or internal disk drive. In addition to the dual interface, by utilizing a JMicron controller chip, as well as cutting-edge flash memory with 128MB DDR2 cache buffer, the S Series achieves ultra-fast access and transferring performance with a read speed of up to 260 MB/s and write throughput speed of up to 210 MB/s (60MB/s for 32GB Model). Optimized for AHCI Mode along with Windows 7 Trim support, the S Series also enables ultra fast start-up and access speed, as well as silent and low power operation.

Trim SupportThe Zalman S Series SSDs offer TRIM support than can be enabled in Windows 7. Designed to maintain the performance of SSD at an optimal level over the lifetime of the drive, TRIM functions by actively deleting invalid data from the SSD’s memory cells to ensure that write operations perform at full speed. Since a memory block must be erased before it can be re-programmed, TRIM improves performance by pro-actively erasing pages containing invalid data, allowing the SSD to write new data without first having to perform a time-consuming erase command.
