Will memory work it says it supports 8GB and have seen people on line install 16GB? please help. Thanks

Yes, It worked for me. I show 16 GB now even though apple only advertised it could be upgraded to 8 GB

Note: For the iMac (Late 2009) models, you can use 2 GB or 4 GB RAM SO-DIMMs of 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM in each slot. For the iMac (Mid 2010) and iMac (Mid 2011) models, use 2 GB or 4 GB RAM SO-DIMMs of 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM in each slot.
 This would lead me to believe this would not work for you as you need 4 4gig. I have a laptop mac book pro which supported two 8 gig sodimms and the memory works great for me.

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Late 2011) with 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 will this be compatible?

Yes you will have to replace your two 2 x 2 GB with this 2 X 8 GB and it will work. I put mine in an early 2011 13-inch MacBook Pro

what model mac do you have? open the apple menu on the top left, select "about this mac" then select "more info." On top it should give the model including the year. something like
