Can the motherboard 1150-Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 ATX be able to hold it?

Also as a side note this ram has great form factor if you want to fit a large air cooler on you CPU, However with that motherboard it likely wont make a difference (assuming you mount air cooler blowing out the back).

Is this memory ECC or non-ECC?  I'm looking for a memory upgrade for the Lenovo ThinkServer TS140 Server you have on your site.  It requires ECC memory from everything I can tell.

Hello Dennis, you need to check the specs on your motherboard for memory compatibility. You may need to contact Dell directly as in looking at the Specs listed on their web site for your desktop model I cannot locate anything on motherboard specs.

Would this clear a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on a ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+, with both fans used?

I had to move the fan up the heat sink a little.  If you don't mind doing that you should be fine.  Keep in mind my rams heatsink is a little taller than those.

Which is better for heavy gaming:

G.SKILL Sniper Gaming Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

or

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

The only difference I see is the quad vs dual Channel Kit, does that have any real applications?

Either one will do great, Ram doesn't actually make much of a difference when gaming. 
I personally chose the sniper gaming series because of its form factor, it allows for more room at the CPU for cooling.
If most of your computing is gaming then you really don't need more than 8GB of ram or 16GB just because :P
