Question 1

Will this work in my 2010 unibody 15in MBP? Will have to change any settings for this to work?

I couldn't tell you off hand, but I can tell you how to find out very easily, if you have an internet connection (which I'm guessing you do since you are posting this question.). Click the Apple menu in the top left corner and select "About This Mac."  It will open a small dialog box giving you basic information about your Mac.  It will usually give you your RAM speed and amount there, but it won't give you your max RAM.  Click the "More Info..." button in this box to open up your System Information (in older versions of OSX it opens the System Profiler).  In this system window it lists the serial number of your Mac (in a short list on newer ones; for the older ones select Hardware Profile and the serial number should be on this list).  In either case, select your serial number, then right click and Copy.  Then open up your browser and go to Apple's support page (sorry I'm not allowed to link to it), click on Tech Specs, then click the "Browse By Product" button, which should give you a text box, click in this box, then right click and Paste, which should put your serial number there.  Once you tell it to search, it will generally ONLY pull up your model. Click the link for your model, and once the page loads, scroll down to the "Processors and Memory" section, where it should list speed and max quantity of RAM for your MBP.  I know that's a mouthful, but hopefully it will help.  As far as changing any settings, I don't believe you have to change any settings.  I used this RAM to upgrade my Early 2011 15in MBP (both in speed AND quantity, it was shipped with slower RAM lol), and I didn't have to change any settings at all.  I hope this answer helps you!

will this be compatible with a mid 2011 iMac 21.5-inch? It appears to call for DDR3 (PC3-10600) 1333 MHz, but I do not understand the rest of the specifications.

Yes.  there are several brands and they are all ok.  I have used Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, and Mushkin.  Newegg has all the Mac memory separated so you can be sure the memory is compatible.  The base memory for your computer was 4 GB (2 x 2 GB).  If you are a purist, you could look at your memory now and match what you have.  There are 4 slots - you'll have a 2 GB in each slot (if you are upgrading to 8 GB) - you can upgrade to 16 GB.    Can't use links here - sorry.   There are good videos on YouTube and info on Apple.

Corsair is surely a good brand, but this RAM is not optimal for your system.  You'll need PC3-12800 / DDR3 1600.  A good website is Every Mac.  You can look at the full tech specs for your model.

You can use it, but it's not the best for your Mac. Your Mac supports DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, so you can use those 1333 MHz modules, but they will be slower than 1600 MHz modules
