Will this plug into a laptop? or is it for desktops only

Desktop only. Laptops use a different, miniaturized, format for memory. If you are uncertain, I'd suggest you go to Crucial's website first. They have some different tools there to help you find what sort of RAM modules will fit/work in your particular system. You don't have to buy from them, but once you know, you can search Newegg or whatever supplier you want for the right type.

I recently bought a motherboard and i was wondering if this was the information about it would this be compatible with it?

Should be compatible based on the DDR3 1600 specification. If you want to be 100% sure most motherboard manufacturers have a Supported Memory Spreadsheet with make, model, and manufacturer so you know its absolutely supported.

Question 3

will this work in combo with a crucial ballistix sport pc3 12800 ddr3 1600 ?

Latency on the Crucial is 9. Latency on this one is a 10. This suggests different timing. It PROBABLY will work, but not as efficiently as if you had matching RAM.

It is HIGHLY recommended to not mix RAM together, or you can see some quirky things happen, especially of the timing is different. I recommend getting another Crucial stick, or get 2 of these, and remove the Crucial.

Question 4

Will this module be compatible with an older module that has a different timing and voltage? The old module is a Corsair Vengeance LP 8gb 240-pin DD3 1600 (CML8GX3M1C1600C9R). I'd like to upgrade to 2 8gb ram sticks but I am not sure if I can just get another 8 gb stick or if I have to get 2 new modules.

Normally not, but I’m not 100% sure. You’re sure (less risky) to make an upgrade if the number of sticks equals the channels (2, 3, 4) and paired memory, meaning like voltages, freqs, etc.

Question 5

Will there be any problems with clearance when using a Noctua NH-D15?  I am not sure it will fit under the second fan.

I will encourage you to look up specifications yourself prior to asking for answers, but can answer this.  I was not familiar with this cooler, and haven't put the build together yet, but looked up the info for you.  Yes, you can install the memory under the cooler with both fans.  See product info on the cooler and ram.

will this work with older M4a87td evo motherboard the only qvl i can find is from asus 2010 and have had problems with other ram brands at higher GB the board is 16 gb max would it work with 2 of these in same channel?

Because the QVL does not list any memory over 4GB, I would conclude that the 16GB board limit is also a 4GB slot limit.  Hope this helps.

My first recommendation is that you replace your aging motherboard if you want to have more memory.  Otherwise, I recommend a 4x4GB kit.  If that isn't affordable, I recommend a 2x4GB kit now and another later.  Enjoy.
