Is this model compatible with my HP Touch Smart 600-1350? Just because it says "Laptop Model" and mine is a desktop.

need to see the specs from the manufacturer, and see if it takes 204 or 240 pin ram, that will determine if you use laptop or desktop type ram.

Question 2

I put this in my Gateway NV79 running Win 7 and was shown an error at startup... just doesn't fire up no matter what I do.  Thoughts?  Did I buy the wrong one?

Do you have a 64 bit operating system or 32 bit operating system?  According to Gateway, this computer will only support more than 4GB of memory if it's running a 64 bit OS

Are these compatible with HP dv6-4052nr? I want to upgrade my laptop Memory with them.

If your laptop uses DDR3 then these will work, and I believe the DV6 has some ddr2 and some ddr3 you can check the HP website with the serial number on your laptop.

do you know if this may work with hm55 chipset?

The jury is still out as far as compatibility with an Intel HM55 motherboard chipset.  I found a forum on Intel's site that indicated that this ram would not work on the HM55 because the HM55 only knows how to communicate with 256MB x 8-bit ram chips or wafers.  So in theory, there would have to be 16 of these ram chips on the stick to make the 4GB module.  From that discussion, it sounds like this ram is what they call high-density, which I can only assume means they use larger chips, like 512MB x 8-bit, only requiring 8 of these on the ram stick for 4GB.  They said it won't work on an HM55.  I learned this after ordering this Kingston kit.  So research carefully before you order.

none. but i think you are talking about MB...its about 1024MB per 1GB. so you are getting 4096MB per memory module.

According to Lenovo support site, this laptop model requires pc3-10600 ram, so yes, it should work just fine
