Question 1

I inserted both ram sticks the one works great the other does not want to work at all is there a possibly that i can return the bad on to be able to get a replacement?

I haven't used my memory sticks yet. Building the system this weekend however just based on general computer knowledge I would first ask:
Is your operating system 32 or 64 bit? Remember that 32 bit operating systems can only recognize 3.5 gig of memory so even if you have 8 installed, it will only recognize the one stick.

Check the post to make sure your BIOS recognizes all 8 gig, if so, your operating system is the problem.

Next, make sure the stick is fully inserted. The Memory brackets should click up and fit into the slots on the memory, re-seat them both just to make sure. Next if you have 4 memory slots and they are colored, make sure you have the sticks in matching color slots (usually every other bank starting with the DIMM slot closest to the processor). This assures you get dual channel efficiency.

Try installing just one stick at a time to assure that both sticks work. Remember to occupy the slot closest to the processor first (usually DIMM 0, especially if you have on board video which feeds off the first slot.

Last check in BIOS. These are fast memory sticks. You may have to run them slower than indicated if your system can't handle 2133. Fiddle with the memory timings.  If not successful, try a BIOS upgrade which may offer better memory compliance.

As far as returning just one, I dunno, they sell them as a pair so likely newegg will just tell you to send both back and they will send you a new pair. Good Luck !

Question 2

I intend to replace my existing system memory , which runs at 1.5V with this memory which runs at 1.65V. Will a motherboard typically support the extra 0.15V or is there a danger of the motherboard overheating? Also, if the motherboard only recognizes speeds of 1333Mhz, will this memory run at that 1333mhz speed or will the motherboard reject this memory sticks. Thanks.

does kit have XMP profiles ?

I have the 2400 kit and use AMD not Intel but my MB supports ram profiles and this brand had two under it. One for the OC 2400 setup and one for the ram chips native speed.
