Is this compatible with a desktop computer. Like can I use this as the hard drive?

This is a hard drive intended for desktops, yes. It's big and bulky as most older spinning disk drives tend to be. I purchased mine about 2-4 years ago and it's still kicking. Great purchase, it does the job.

Hi Everybody, Will this hard drive work well as a system main drive *(operating system, files, and programs) or not because it is Enterprise. What does "enterprise" mean on a hard drive? Will it be more durable? Would this or a Seagate Barracuda be faster and more reliable? Thanks for the help!

I have 4 of these drives installed in the 4 internal bays of my 2007 Mac Pro. One serves as the main system drive and the other 3 are RAIDed together to make a 6 TB volume. They work fine, but they can fail. I had to replace one of them after about 2 years. It should be the same speed as a Barracuda if the Barracuda rotates at 7200 rpm. I don't know about longevity. I thought it was called "Enterprise" because it has so much space, just like the Starship!
