Question 1

I'm confused is this a USB keyboard or wireless? I really enjoy the feel of Logitech wave ergonomic design but since I use a KVM switch between multiple PCs/laptops, I can't use wireless keyboard with my KVM switch.

Please let me know if this can be used wired into usb port if this is actually a wireless keyboard

I purchased the completed setup, Keyboard and Mouse model K550. It is a wireless setup that comes with a Unifying switch receiver that plugs into a USB port having a wire and port that plugs into a USB port in the computer. It is an exceptional unit and Operates better than any keyboard/mouse I have ever used, And I've used a slew of them. This is the best.

I also bought a keyboard K350 as a stand alone and it also comes with the Unifying USB Port. This unifying port I would think is similar to your KVM switch and can operate several hardware items using one Unifying Port.

If you are questionable about this purchase contact Logitech Tech Support, they will help with your question. I have had terrific support from them. If anyone can answer your concerns they can.

Question 2

as sold, does this product include the mouse and usb plug-in wireless device?

This item is keyboard only, not mouse (though it does include the universal USB receiver). Poking around, it looks like Logitech MK550 is this keyboard (K350) plus a mouse. Note that the latest generation of Logitech wireless devices can all use a single universal USB receiver.

Is product compatible with Lenovo computer?

I don't have a Lenove computer.  I have an HP computer, but I like the way the keyboard runs.  If you have any Microsoft OS there is a way to make the keyboard run in compatibility mode for that OS.  I hope this helps.

does it have an on/off switch?

Yes.  The on-off switch (slider) is on the back side of the keyboard.  There is also a PC power button on the top right front side of the keyboard.

I have a sliding under desk keyboard tray. It is 4 inches wide and 14 inches long. Will the Logitech K530 fit in this space?

The crucial dimension is HEIGHT for an under desk tray followed by width.  If the dimensions aren't listed on the specifications tab on this page, let me know and I'll measure the one I bought.

Specs don't list Windows 8+ OS version. Does this keyboard work with Windows 8.1 PRO?

We may have one working on Windows 10. We do not use Windows 8 or 8.1. We have several MK710 combos using Windows 10.

Does this device use 128bit, or any level, of encryption?

Don't confuse the 2. 4 ghz unifying receiver with regular 802.11 wireless.  Logitech uses a proprietary type of bluetooth pairing that uses part of the 2.4 ghz  band,  but it's still just bluetooth and just as insecure.  There is some extra pairing software that can be downloaded to facilitate multiple devices but there is no embedded encryption,  it's a very tiny and  basic receiver that plugs into a USB on the host PC

compatable with dell inspiron 15r?

It is compatible - The 15R appears to have come with Windows 7 by default and has USB ports for the K350's wireless dongle.

You should be able to plug in the keyboard's dongle, wait a minute for drivers to load, and then the keyboard starts working.
