Hi, I'm looking to buy this refurbished Logitech K810 keyboard. I want to know if there may be any scratches, dents, wear, etc on the keyboard?

Mine was the same as new when I got it, but I don't know if all of them are like that or not. On a side note it is an awesome keyboard. I use it for my HTPC, my Windows RT tablet, and my laptop and it instantly switches between the three using the f1 f2 f3 key. Also the automatic backlight works really well.

I noticed the description on this product says it's a mini keyboard at 11.3". I noticed, however, that Logitech doesn't make a "mini keyboard" in the K810 series. Also, every review I've ever seen of the K810 from other sites says that it's larger than Apple's 12.8" keyboard (typically with a video or photo comparison demonstrating that fact clearly). So, is this really a mini keyboard and is it really a Logitech? Or is this just a bad description by newegg?

The keyboard is full sized in that the key-spacing and the key-caps themselves are what you'd expect from a full size keyboard (spacing is identical to the full size wired Logitech Illuminated Keyboard). The overall size of the keyboard however is about as minimal as possible. I don't have an Apple keyboard to give you a direct comparison, but judging from pictures (and assuming Apple also uses full size keys and spacing) the K810 might have slightly more aluminum along the edges, but it doesn't have the large battery hump in that back that Apple's keyboard has, so overall portability should be very close between the two.

For your reference, the actual dimensions of the K810 are: 11 3/8" wide, 5 1/16" deep, 5/16" thick at the thinnest portion, and 7/16" thick at the thickest. Add another 1/16" in thickness for the keys themselves.

"Mini" means different things to different people, but in this case the K810 is a Logitech full size keyboard in a "mini" frame. It's about as small as you're going to get without sacrificing typing experience, and should be very comparable in size to Apple's newest wireless keyboard without number pad.

I noticed that the description calls this a "mini keyboard" and the dimensions state that it's 11.3 inches. However, every review I can find of the K810 says that it's larger than apples 12.8 inch wireless keyboard (usually with a video or photo showing this fact very clearly) and I cannot find anywhere that suggests Logitech makes a "mini" K810 keyboard. So, is this keyboard really a "mini keyboard" or is this just a bad description from NewEgg? (Maybe if someone could simply measure their keyboard that would help).

It's really very close to the size of a MBA 13" keyboard and seemed almost identical to my external Apple keyboard. Dimensions are 11 3/8" wide by 5 1/16". Unfortunately, I can't attach a photo of it next to my MBA 13". That would show the similarity.

There are two things that are different between it and a Mac Bluetooth keyboard. The keyboard "rake" (I believe that's the correct term) is lower so the keyboard is flatter than a Mac external keyboard. Second, it's a Windows keyboard, so you'll have to remap some keys if you want the key locations to be the same as on a Mac. That said, I really like this keyboard and I'm using it with my Mac, an iPhone, and a Nexus 7.

Is this item compatible with Samsung tablet galaxy 2014 edition?

If the Samsung tablet has Bluetooth, the keyboard ought to be able to talk to it. If you need the keyboard's "illuminated" feature you may want to keep the keyboard plugged into a USB power port rather than run on 100% battery power.
This is not a "toy" size keyboard. Its compact size is only slightly smaller than a full-size keyboard without a numeric pad. It's perfect for sitting on top of my [unopened] Dell Precision laptop CAD station that is inserted into an E-Replicator docking station & a big flat panel monitor.

Ok, I am interested in using an illuminated wireless keyboard AND mouse to reduce cable hook up.

If I am reading all this right, you plug in the keyboard to a USB port when not using it remotely. (I also own an ipad2)

Now we assume this will work. What about the wireless mouse ? I'm sure not going to buy a corded mouse to go with this.

What type ? Does it work from the same USB transmitter/receiver ?

Can you get an extended warranty if this "used" keyboard messes up ?

This keyboard is bluetooth.  Your devices must have bluetooth connectivity (with the possible exception of using it wired).  One of this keyboard's better features is having three bluetooth pair keys (f1, f2, f3).  This allows you to pair it to devices "permanently" without manually pairing them every time (e.g. go from iPad to laptop by pressing a button).

Because it is bluetooth, there is no dedicated (USB) receiver involved.  If you want to use this with a laptop, it will need to have bluetooth.  Therefore, whatever mouse you desire to use stands alone from this keyboard.  You can use a bluetooth mouse (or RF, or wired).

Extended warranty option is under the price, you would add this before adding it to your cart.  Admittedly, considering the price, and the fact that it is factory refurbished (not "used"), I wouldn't bother with adding a warranty, personally.

I was wondering what the range is with this Bluetooth device. Im looking for around 15 feet. Maybe IR illuminated keyboard might be better for me or would this product be good?

With my media pc and a IOGEAR 4.0 Bluetooth adapter (GBU521), the keyboard works at least 30 feet without line of sight (this is as far as I can get and still be in my house). Best portable keyboard I have ever used. Battery lasts forever, illumination with touch sensitivity is awesome, and quickly switches between 3 devices. Recommended.

how is the condition of the keyboard?

The keyboard came in a brown unlabeled box and was well packaged. I looked over the keyboard looking for scratches or dings and could find none. The keyboard looked like it was brand new

Does this only work through bluetooth? Does it also use the logitec unified wireless thing?

No. It only works through the blur tooth on your device. But it connects quickly and does a good job of staying connected. I have other logitech devices that use the unified receiver - it doesnt connect to the receiver, but it does use the same unified software installed on your pc or laptop so you can configure it.

what is needed to support thsi K810 keyboard on my pc?

All you need is a Bluetooth module for your computer. I bought an external module for my Win7 desktop machine & an internal one for my new Dell laptop. Once the modules are installed in your computer[s], the mini keyboard almost self-programs itself to the modules. Other than being wireless, I like the bright light that shines thru the keys! 
I bought the mini keyboard primarily to use with my laptop. I have a set-up where my laptop plugs into a Dell port replicator with a Dell monitor stand that supports a 24" flat panel. Now I can use my laptop at my desk with a professional size monitor & never have to open the case to turn the system ON or struggle to read technical drawings on a small laptop screen.
