Question 1

Hi there. Could you tell me if this RK-9100xR  model is the same as the RK-9100I just with the illumination? I'm asking because I work nights and I currently have the RK-9100I and just need illumination on it to see the keys. As I am a transcriptionist with heavy typing for more than 8 hours, I need the keyboard to have the same feel on the keys. I have purchased about 4 mechanical keyboards in the past 6 weeks due to the illumination they have, but all 4 have keys texture and feel response that hurt my fingers. So, if the texture and keys feel exactly same as the RK-9100I, I could adjust to this keyboard. Look forward to your response. Thanks!

I don't know anything about the RK-9100I, but it is advertised to have the same texture and feedback then I suspect it's very similar. Mine has Cherry MX Blue switches, which are pretty loud but feel stable -- good for deliberate typists. I do like the texture on the keys a lot. They feel smooth but never slippery. I can't imagine the switches would hurt your fingers (clicking sound and a tiny bump)...but maybe if you're experiencing something like that you should go with MX Red or Brown switches, since they have the least resistance. Does this keyboard "remember" your macros and remappings if you bring it from one computer to another? (Some have onboard memory)

I'm not sure since I've only used this for my one computer. However, I would assume so since I would sometimes leave the gaming setting on on my keyboard by accident and I would be in my bios or something that doesn't involve any drivers I installed and it would still do bindings. This is just from my experiences, though. Keep asking around if you want a straight answer. Hope I helped a little!

Can the key caps be arranged to the Dvorak type without the keys being uneven?

Take a look at the keys from the side of the keyboard and see if the keys in each row are at different angles. If they are then it will feel weird and uneven to the touch in a Dvorak layout. I looked at mine and they differ in angle. It will be best to buy a genuine Dvorak set of keys for the board. Or you can arrange them and test the feel and see if that works for you.

is rosewill apollo RK-9100xR compatible with mac? what i mean is can i just plug and play or i need to remap it?
