Hello everyone who purchased this Rosewill K90 keyboard:  If you know; could I choose just 1 color for the keys?  Is a static, constant color choice possible?

I didn't see a mute button. do you just press the volume knob?

Looks like there is an import for profiles, however i can not find any online.  Has anybody found any profiles?   OR, a short tutorial on how to create them?  TIA..

Question 4

My mouse goes dead when I play a video. I think somehow the media buttons take over? Anyone else experience this and figure out a fix for it? I have the mouse plugged in via the keyboard's USB hub.

Can this keyboard be configured without software? If not, does the software need to be kept installed to stay configured?

Are there any solid color modes that can be activated through the easy function keys without the software?

Yes. Pressing Fn + Pause cycles through solid RGB colors without any effects when set to factory defaults. This keyboard has a fair amount of control just from the keyboard itself, and it's all noted in the manual.

Backlight brightness can also be controlled through dedicated keys in the top left, or by pressing the volume knob until it clicks and spinning it. A volume knob click switches between volume and backlight control modes.

The software doesn't seem to allow the volume knob press handling to be remapped or modified. Key mapping is only available for the standard 104 keys. The provided software is titled Whiftec Keyboard Engine in the task manager, is a 32-bit application, and appears to be written in Qt and Python. It also installs a windows service called "NEON K90 Engine Suite".

I set a custom static color scheme in the app, closed the app, stopped the service, and disconnected and reconnected the keyboard. After the power-on animation, it showed the custom color scheme. Connecting it to another system without the software installed showed the same color layout. So there appears to be some keyboard memory. Which is nice, as I don't like leaving keyboard software running all the time. I've no idea how the custom colors affect the pre-programmed color modes and keyboard switching.

are the switches hot swappable?

Sorry, don't know for sure however it is unlikely.  Most motherboards are protected with a surface mounted fuse and if you unplug or alter the keyboard you may blow the fuse.  I had that happen and it was a total pain.
