Question 1

The description says the keyboard is mechanical, but the item specs say it is not. Which is it?

It's mostly Mechanical with some keys using  membrane.   All keys you'd normally use for FPS are Cherry MX Red switches,  The F-keys (F1,F2,F3etc and the page navigation keys = Page up,Pagedown,Home,Delete) are traditional membrane keys.

So in that respect,  it's not a fully 100% mechanical keyboard.

Im looking to use this to play WoW. Will it work nicely?

I don't play wow, More of an fps gamer. but I can say the keyboard works as advertised. This was my first mech, keyboard, the keys have a different feel when pressed than regular plastic keyboards, it's somewhat noisier,  very satisfied with purchase.

Are the mechanical keys loud?

They can be, depending on how much force you apply to the keys. Typing normally causes just a bit more noise than my regular membrane keyboard, and this can be picked up easily through a microphone if you are in a Skype call. If you are looking for a keyboard that will not provide a potentially distracting noise to others around you, this keyboard will not fit the bill.
