Does this keyboard *require* me to install the software to use it as a basic keyboard, without profiles or lighting settings?

I bought this keyboard about 18 months ago.  I do not remember whether there was a requirement to download software.  While the tactile feel of the keyboard is better than average, unfortunately the company does not make ones that are ergonomic.  I used to play computer games.  Now I am spending many hours each day as a writer.  I cannot use the Corsair for more than a very short period of time due to problems with my wrists.

Also, due to the differences in keyboard spacing, I tend to misplace my hands on the Corsair as my natural position has my hands spaced wider.  This causes my need to back up and reposition my right hand to match the "jkl" rather than hit "kl;"!

No cherry MX blue keyboard is going to be quiet, but if you have a headset or headphones on you won’t hear it much

What is the difference between the Red MX and the Blue MX? Both appear the be red in color and lighting.

Hey man i saw your question and i found the answer a few years back. The difference between blue and red switches is actually how stiff the keys are. From my understanding both mx switches are mechanical so they  dont have like a point where the button presses down and releases. So the second the key hits the bottom and is released you can press it again making them more responsive. They key difference in the switches is the weight you need to press the keys. You can look up all that information online and what it really comes down to is personal preference. I personally like blue switches because they are a little lighter so my hands dont fatigue as quickly after several hours of gaming. I hope it helps.
