Pros: This thing was pretty cheap, and not even refurbished. It was easy to configure the keystone, image size, and focus. The focus and image size are each controlled by separate rings on the lens. After a small amount of tweaking I had an ideal configuration. Two HDMI inputs means I don't need to feed things into a receiver first. I don't quite understand the complaints on the lowest ratings, although they were only 3 stars at the lowest. One person complained that the throw is too short, and another that it is too long. I found it highly adjustable, and pretty much what I would expect for this size and price range of projector. It was said in the reviews that this projector cannot be returned. I suggest, as that reviewer did, that you read Newegg's return policy. This is covered by a 30 day return window. One reviewer said there were no mount points for a universal projector mount, but I used the same universal mount my Optoma was connected to before I brought this into the setup. Another complained that there is no audio out, but there is in fact a 3.5mm headphone-style audio output. Plus most HDMI devices will allow you to output audio to a separate connection from the HDMI. The rainbow effect some complain about is really pretty minimal. All in all, this is a fantastic purchase for the money. I guess you just can't please everyone.
Cons: A little noisy, but as another reviewer pointed out, it's constant and not variable, so it becomes white noise very quickly. It's small and it gets kinda warm, so it needs a powerful fan to keep from burning up.
Overall Review: With overwhelmingly positive reviews it should be clear this is a winner. However, if you check the few 3 star reviews you may be misled. It can mount to a universal projector mount, it does have audio out, it can be returned,
Pros: Stunning picture right out of the box Very bright (3000 lumens), great color/contrast, solid blacks Quiet (not silent, but quieter than the rest) Price - I would have easily spent 2-3x the money, but I really couldn't find a better projector than this
Cons: Not really a con, but if you are replacing an older projector, this might have a shorter throw or lack the adjustments you might need. I had no problems - perfectly aligned picture on a 135" screen. My 3D content is Half-SBS format and the projector's 'auto' mode doesn't handle it correctly by default. I have to manually set 'side-by-side' mode in the menu each time I go to 3D mode as it seems to always reset back to 'auto' when you leave 3D mode. I programmed a macro into my remote to handle it, so no big deal.
Overall Review: I absolutely love this projector. Right out of the box, the picture is crisp and vibrant, with solid colors and blacks. Usually, I fine tune my sets for days, but I'm just not feeling the need to change much with this projector. I was on the fence between this and the BenQ W1070. They are both amazing projectors, but the Acer is brighter and quieter, with other specs being about the same. The Acer is much newer, so reviews and ratings are still coming in. There are some comparisons online, so look around for yourself. I've hosted a few movie nights, which has already led to a couple friends buying this same projector without hesitation. It really shows well and speaks for itself. I'm using this projector with a 135" Elite screen (ER135WH1) in a room with controlled lighting (total darkness). The 3D mode works great with the DLP glasses I already had (Optoma BG-ZD101 and ViewSonic PGD-150). I'm not a huge fan of 3D in general, but it is cool for the occasional movie or video game. Acer has a feature called '2D to 3D', which takes normal 2D content and simulates 3D. I'm not sure I would use it much, but it does seem to actually work and is pretty cool. I watched about 30 minutes of Star Wars IV before I got tired of it.
Pros: I love this projector! It's not as loud or hot as my previous NEC and the picture quality is amazing! It's not terribly heavy either. You don't need anything real hardcore to mount it.
Cons: It doesn't rain money on me while I watch movies.
Overall Review: The remote seemingly works regardless of where you point it.
Pros: When it comes to clear video and audio I have good standards. I prefer the crispness and clearness of .wavs over .mp3s. When I first saw the picture I was amazed at how clear it was. I was blown away at the focus feature which expanded the size of the screen almost twice as big. Believe me when I say this projector is QUIET. I couldn't believe it didn't put out so little sound. It puts out about as much heat as if you hover your hand over a soldering iron but in a cool room it dissipates and is almost unnoticeable. I play Mass Effect on it and its about 3 feet away from my head and I don't even know its there. If you are one of those people who can tell the difference between HD and 4K then this miiiight not be the projector for you. But if you are happy with BluRay or .avi files in HD then you will like this projector. The projector is super lightweight and comes with a case which is handy to carry the remote. It feels really portable. I have brought it over to a few friend's houses and had movie night on the fly. I have friends asking me to bring it over now because its so cool. I wanted to get a higher end version but settled with this because of the affordable price and the specifications. I got it on sale for $600 with shipping. Highly recommended.
Cons: Though I'm happy with the projector there are a few tiny nuisances. First, being as its a projector, proper placement is crucial. Properly placing it and positioning it and key stoning it is kind of a pain, but hey it works good. The one thing that really bothered me though was the positioning screw/legs on the rear corners. They designed it so that only one side is adjustable which is quite awkward. It should have 2. I don't know what the Acer people were thinking but to circumvent this you just need to place an object underneath the projector to straighten out the image. Also, keep in mind, I believe the 3D setting is slightly different than other projector in Hz speed. I think its lower but I'm not sure.
Pros: Full HD 1080P Native resolution, 3D, 2D to 3D instant conversion, bright 3000 lumens, 2 HDMI ports, and whatever the rest of the specs are, all PROS. Affordable and light. Can project around 120-130 inches from a distance of 11FT! Built-in speaker quality is better than expected. Cool feature where you can pick your wall color in the settings and the projector will adjust accordingly! Works great on most bright colored walls! Will definitely bring your family together.
Cons: Does not come with 3D glasses :( and waiting for it to arrive was the hardest part. Did not like how it was shipped in its retail box showing basically what's inside but still got a better deal on it than on NewEgg.
Overall Review: Bought mine on eebei d0t c0m for $715 w free shipping. First movies I watched on this projector were Pacific Rim and The Hobbit which were mind blowing on a 120" screen sitting only about 9FT away. Used the ROKU 2 playing 1080p .mkv and .mp4 movies right off the flash drive and works well with this projector through HDMI. Did not use the internal speaker since I have my Logitech Z2300 speakers plugged right into the projector. Yes there are rainbows and that is normal with this projector but not noticeable if you're not looking for it. This is normal with projectors that use color wheels but still an amazing piece of technology that amazes me every single time. Planning to do mostly movies and gaming on it. Love how it is portable and light. Comes with a nice carrying case to bring it over your buddies houses and host movie nights. Say goodbye to real movie theaters because now you can have one in your home and save the bucks for something better!
Pros: Lightweight Small Size Not too loud Tripod Mount 2D to 3D conversion and it works bright inexpensive
Cons: No level to move the picture up or down
Overall Review: I purchased a Panasonic PT-AE700U in late 2005 and was very happy with until Nov 2014 when the lamp blew up and scared the bejesus out of me not to mention it ruined my movie night. I paid 1,849.00 for it back then, yes a lot of money. At that time it was top of the line and very good and indeed it was. Now I needed to either buy a lamp for it at 252.00 dollars or buy a new projector. The new Panasonic one sells for 1999.00 for the 3D version. Since I have to be frugal I decided to buy the Acer H6510BD because Newegg had it for 449.99 on a cybersale. So I decided what the heck, I will get it and if it does not work I will simply return it. After I buy it I realize that Newegg does not accept returns on this item. So I started feeling a little worried about this purchase. So, here is goes, my experience with the new Acer H6510BD after using it for 2 weeks and trying out most of the settings. First of all let me describe my home theater setup. I have a Da-Lite Model B w/CSR Manual Screen: 106”, a Yamaha RX-V773, a PSP 3 Blu-Ray player, SainSonic Zodiac 904 Series 3D glasses and of course the Acer H6510BD. After unpacking the projector I see that it is a lot lighter and smaller than the Panasonic one which are all good things. First annoyance, my old projector sat on a shelve on the wall all the way up -When I put the Acer on this shelve the image was being projected on the ceiling. I don’t want to mount it on the ceiling because my house is old and there are not many options. Since there is NO way to move the picture up or down -I decided well, I will overlook this and get a tripod since Acer was nice enough to add this feature to the projector. I bought a cheap Targus tripod from the Target for about 20 bucks. So first annoyance has been addressed. Now nothing showing on the screen when I play a 3D movie. So, I find out that you need to enable HDMI pass through on the receiver and turn 3D on in the PlayStation. I did this I got the movie projected in the screen. After all this craziness I can honestly tell you that this is a great little projector. Very bright and clear. I can now have a small table lamp on and still watch the movie. Tested a lot of movies and of course the winner is Avatar 3D. One last thing I tested, which I know a lot of people do not know about this projector is that it includes NVIDIA 3DTV Play which claims can turn 2D to 3D. Well, I have only tried one blu-ray disc with this 2D to 3D feature –Galapagos. I have to say I was not expecting much out of this but it blew my mind away. After testing and configuring my setup I have to say that even at a retail price of 799.99 this projector is totally worth it and I am no longer concerned about the no return policy. So please before complaining about the projector, know what it can and cannot do. I honestly recommend that you get someone that knows a little about electronics before giving it a bad review or thinking it does not work properly and
Pros: Small footprint, lightweight, simple well arranged Menu, bright when needed, no useless auto iris adjustment, fast Power On/Off, great color accuracy, great mid/short throw range, ghost and crosstalk free bright 3D picture.Much better than H9500BD !
Cons: Almost impossible to find screw set for the mounting bracket. That is really the only Cons for me !
Overall Review: I can't believe how superior is this projector to my previous Acer H9500BD. I'm glad I sold it and got this one! It is 3 times smaller, lighter and 3 times brighter ! I really suffered with the dim picture of H9500BD, especially when I had another Acer H7531D and was able to see the difference. Despite the best in class review from Art Feierman for the H9500BD , I definitely prefer the picture quality of the H6510BD. The 1st one was so dim , that there was no white color at all , but grey shade of it. I tough that it was defective and sent it to Acer 3 times so they can adjust the aperture and increase the brightness of lamp, which was the same model as in the H7531D. I never used the Accumotion, nor Auto iris adjustment/dynamic black. The 1st extra /frame interpolation totally killed the film like effect, the 2nd one ruined the white and yellow in dark scene. Also the iris adjustment was too slow for fast changing dark and light scenes. The remote had lazy response and switching to 3D takes a lot of time.I kept the glasses and they work just fine with H6510BD. Thanks to Newegg and their unbeatable price , I snap this great projector at $629 and with their Iron egg price guarantee , a gift card scored the total of $600 ! -TIP- If you are watching in light controlled room , such in my case , turn off the Brilliant color , keep an Eco mode , and decrease the brightness and contrast to 45. For advanced adjustment call the service menu by pressing the "Power+left+left+Menu" (in the exact order , not the same time)You will see 7 numbers on the top left. Pressin "down" will give the option under each and every number. To go back , press the "Menu" button. Sorry for my English , but that is all I can say for this great beamer !

Pros: Bright! Great Color Reproduction Great Contrast Sharp Image No Motion Blur in 2D Mode 3D Works Cost
Cons: Upward Throw Makes Ceiling Mount Tricky Doesn't Come with Glasses
Overall Review: I purchased my H6510BD from Newegg Tuesday night and received it on Friday. I'm upgrading from a Panasonic PT-AE700U that provided me with 8 years of service. I'm projecting about 120in diagonal from a ceiling mount about 12ft from white drywall. The only slightly annoying part of using this projector from a ceiling mount is the fact that it has a 14 degree upward throw. This meant that I actually needed to angle the projector slightly towards the ceiling to compensate. This caused a mild keystone but the keystone correction seems to compensate quite well with no noticeable distortion. My media room is moderately light controlled (blackout curtains) with a small amount of daylight leaking through. The immediate difference in contrast, color reproduction, brightness was astounding when compared to my old projector. My wife and friends noticed immediately, as well. The first thing I did was put the projector in eco mode since it was actually too bright in standard mode. I ran it for about 12 hours this weekend including a couple of XBOX 360 games (Tomb Raider, Skyrim, and Black Ops 2), two NCAA tournament games (Tar Heels), a little surfing and Youtube on my media PC, and a little bit of standard HD cable programming. I found no noticeable motion blur (not sure if that's an issue with DLP anyway). The text from my PC was incredibly sharp at 1080p. 720p didn't look nearly as good but I understand that's to be expected from a non-native resolution. TV looked great despite the lack of 1080p programming. Video games looked fantastic as I noticed new details I'd never picked up on before. The presets that looked most pleasing to my eye were "Movie" and "Dark Cinema". I didn't mess with the color settings, contrast, or brightness. I left the dynamic black turned off because it didn't really seem necessary. I experimented a bit with the 3D but my tests were limited due to the fact that my receiver is not HDMI 1.4a compliant so it would not pass the 3D signal. I bypassed my receiver and connected the projector directly to my XBOX 360. I ran Black Ops 2 in 3D mode with a pair of white (120hz) Sainsonic 3D glasses. I found the 3D effect in Black Ops 2 to be a bit underwhelming. It added some depth but I never felt like anything was actually coming out of the screen. I also noticed that quick movements (like my gun jerking when I fired) had a noticeably reduced framerate that seemed to affect my accuracy. This is probably not a fault of the projector but more to do with the game engine and the fact that 3D effectively halves the framerate of any video source. I haven't tried the 2D-to-3D long enough to develop an opinion on the usefulness. I hope my amateur review helps somebody who's on the fence about this projector. I obviously don't have any other "modern" projectors to compare it to but I can assure you that it blows my previous 8 year old ($2500) Panasonic out of the water.
