can some one tell me how many buttons exactly does this mouse have. i play world of warcraft as healer i need at least a mouse 1-5 buttons. seems like looks like it but wanna make sure?

It has 7 buttons all together.
Left click, right click, scroll wheel up, scroll wheel down, scroll wheel click, mouse 4 and mouse 5 side buttons, and the DPI changer right in the middle.  If more buttons is what you're after I recommend checking Logitech's gaming website for their other models of gaming mice. They might have something that better fits your needs. But if you do decide to go with the Daedalus, I'm sure you will love it. It's extremely comfortable and fun to use.

Does the mouse-wheel have a free-spin mode that you can toggle on and off like the G500 does?

Unfortunately it does not. The scroll wheel is midway between free-spin and ratcheted. Not too tight. But as a mid grade gaming mouse I am pleased with this product. Dpi on-the-fly works great and tracking is awesome as well. Hope this helps. GLHF!

It is roughly 2.5 inches at its widest point and 4.5 inches long. Measured w/ a precise ruler.

I noticed that as my computer boots up the mouse changes colors. Is there anyway to change the color of the light when in use?

Download the software from Logitech,  I don't think you can change the color, but you can change other parameter like brightness...Great mouse!!!
