I just tried it on transparent glass. It barely works. It might move normally for a few seconds, but mostly it just moves slowly or not at all. It may do better on translucent (black glass).

What is the difference between the different M720 mice in the search results?

If its an M720 they should pretty much all be the same device maybe with a different color or something, but you have to keep in mind Newegg also sells other vendors products now too. So if you search for some model the search results will give you results for newegg as well as any other vendors that sell that same mouse. To narrow it down you can use the search tools on the left side bar to choose to only search from actual stuff sold by newegg or other variations in the search. You might see one vendor with a price a few dollars less but charges 5$ for shipping then another is even cheaper but takes a month to get here from china, then another listing will be say Newegg and it might have free shipping and its being shipped normally from Cali so it will probably arrive sooner than something from China clearly. Hopefully that answers your question. Also, the m720 is a really cool mouse for multi computer people. You can even set it up to copy and paste ect between 2 machines.
